“It seems to me that wearing a skirt while doing exercises would threaten modesty more than wearing normal exercise clothes.”
I spent my teenage years trying to make my father, Baptist preacher, understand that. We were forbidden to wear slacks, shorts, etc., even in gym class.
I hear you! My poor Baptist granddaughters were subjected to these ridiculous rules also.
Needless to say, when they turned 18, they visited me dressed in miniskirts and attractive sleeveless tops, and with a couple of tattoos!
They are all now happily married to non-Baptist husbands, and they are much more reasonable with their children ( my great-grands)...Thank God!
Also, I visited them once in their Bible Belt home. We took a walk in the woods. The girls climbed trees and hung upside down, the skirts went up over their heads, and their pretty panties were exposed.
I never laughed so much!
When I was in school, including college, we could not wear pants. I can remember we wore pants one time in college because it had snowed and was really cold. We did everything in dresses, skirts, shirts/sweaters. Of course, that was back in the good ole days!
I once repeated an old joke to a Baptist minister:
Why do Baptists oppose fornication?
It might lead to dancing and card playing.
And he said, “That’s pretty much true.”
Seems to me there’s a perfectly reasonable solution to the problem of accidental exposure in skirts (while working out): one could just have the yoga pants or sweat pants or shorts underneath the skirt. I realize some guys might get a jolly just seeing an upturned skirt but what’s the big deal if the garment that’s exposed is something that’s normally seen anyway?
Besides this is apparently an all women’s club. So who really would care (except for some lesbians I guess maybe).
I tend to agree with the sentiment that there’s more to this story than meets the eye. No pun intended.
