Perhaps the activities you described (chasing after four or five little ones; going to market (no carwalking about 2 miles while shopping); standing on feet fixing Kosher meals and Sabbath meals; cleaning house, etc. etc. etc.) do not work the muscle groups she wants to tighten, or do not provide sufficient cardio.
Or perhaps the Orthodox woman in question is NOT MARRIED and therefore engages in only a fraction of your aforementioned activities. Or maybe she just LIKES it.
I can’t imagine why anyone would care what she chose to wear to the gym.
“one could just have the yoga pants or sweat pants or shorts underneath the skirt.”
Sad to say, any kind of pants was not an option in our house. Weird, huh?
First, orthodox Jewish women will wear exercise pants UNDER a skirt. I don’t see the problem as she can wear a knee high skirt and that wouldn’t get trapped in a treadmill.
Second, why doesn’t she do what most orthodox women do and go to a women’s only gym? At a women only gym, an orthodox woman could wear anything she wanted.
They can’t wear pants. They have to put a skirt over it. But they can wear a really tight stretchy knee length skirt that wouldn’t get stuck in a machine, with leggings under neath.
