What the heck is going on? First of all, Huma Abedin was allowed to testify behind closed doors. That should not have been sanctioned. She should have had to testify in public. The FBI is stone walling the case and not aggressively going after Hillary Clinton and her lieutenants like Huma Abedin. Now, Trey Gowdy doesn’t even show at her hearing and says there is no particular reason for it. This morning I heard that Clinton warned the GOP to lay off Abedin and now this. Abedin should have been raw meat for a prosecutor like Gowdy. This makes no sense whatsoever and it looks very, very bad. Cummings was almost an hour late as well. In fact, so many were late that Abedin left and came back. Just shaking my head over this.

I watched a lot of the public hearings, and Mr. Cummings was disgraceful .. his actions were expressly to try to discredit every witness, or to delay every action Mr. Gowdy was trying to do.
Please put the blame where it belongs.

Waste of time when they're on the same uniparty team.
The purpose of a closed Congressional Hearing, assuming no bonafide national security cause for secrecy, is usually to compel the witness to commit to a version of events with sufficient specificity to support a perjury conviction if they change their story. Congress Critters have staff attorneys, and investigators at Federal law enforcement agencies, to carry out the mundane discovery tasks found in civil litigation.
I would much rather have had Gowdy wielding the gavel when Huma was asked to commit to a set of facts. I agree with you that his absence is not proof that "the fix is in," but it is cause to go "hmmmm."

Agreed and I would have preferred Gowdy take on Abedin. I am just willing to cut him some slack and trust him to run his case. He’s legit. Most lawyers are idiots. He is a steely eyed litigator.

Her father is Indian [born in New Dehli] and her mother is Pakistani. Huma was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was later raised in Saudi Arabia.

[My note: couple questions here... not knowing how skilled Huma is at punctuation, what does she mean? Is her friend in Benghazi the injured DS officer or is her friend in Benghazi another person? Given the context I am assuming for the moment that her friend in Benghazi is a different person because any friend of Huma’s would probably not object to a visit. Now, what does she mean by “will download in person” ... what would download have to do with this DS person who is injured?
Could it be that her friend in Benghazi made a video or recording of an off the record interview of this injured witness with ot without the knowledge of the injured witness? We need to know what this download is and if it has been turned over to congress.
Another question- why does the injured individul not want a visit- still not feeling well enough or does not want to expose his identity unneccessarily? Doesn’t want a visit by anyone, or just not a visit by Hillary?
If you see the entire email it just looks like it could be a private code beteen friends, not unlike the coded al Qaeda emails about weddings... there are refences to dresses and the like just as you would expect of to women discussing Chelsea’s wedding but these could refer to something else, such as thumb drives. Of course I have no proof of it but I wonder if Huma’s other references to just ‘hearing from’ the Reagan and Bush libraries not wanting to host ‘the oscar exhibit’ are truly innocent, or code for investigative authorities, either congressional or FBI, and she is alerting Hillary to having been questioned ?
It’s interesting that the Democrats today insist Huma has little knowledge of the Benghazi attacks when here is an email from shortly after the Benghazi attacks where Huma refers to a friend she has in Benghazi. Also, are we supposed to believe the Clinton state dept did not avail itself of Huma’s and her family’s insight into the region? If Huma knows nothing about Benghazi why would the Dems care if the committee wastes its time on her? Why the panic?]
I believe “download in person” means that she’ll tell Hillary the whole story in person...it’s not about downloading a file.

I’m not. Think about it. No one at the top level is going to tell the truth and has been given all the lies to cover up what they did. The truth will only be found in the evidence or if a less trained individual makes a mistake. I’ve read the depositions and testimonies of regular people who were part of a cover up and the biggest liar was the head the department.
Can this committee put them in jail?

I would assume they did ask her about the classified emails. That would be much easier if they could use the actual classified wording of the emails instead of having to talk around things.
