Trump Touts His Competency Versus Bush 43: ‘World Trade Center Came Down During His Time’

(snip)

Exchange as follows:

STEPHANIE RUHLE, host: In order to be the president of the United States, you have to be a leader. We have not seen your soft hand. We have seen your offense, but George Bush had to stand in front of America after 9/11, Barack Obama did after Sandy Hook. Help us understand who Donald Trump is as a man. I need to know that you will make us feel a safe and you will make us feel proud.

TRUMP: I think I have a bigger heart than all of them. I think I’m much more competent than all of them. When you talk about George Bush—I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.

RUHLE: Hold on. You can’t blame George Bush for that.

TRUMP: He was president, OK. Blame him or don’t blame him, but he was president. The World Trade Center came down during his reign.”

"But the implication is…"

Only if your inclined to make one. Just like the "blood coming out of…whatever" line.

He said, "….Blame him, or don't blame him…". Which means his comment is a simple statement of fact, food for thought.

Who’s saying that Bush deliberately orchestrated 9/11 like the Truthers do?

"and if illegals being deported were enforced, which Bush refused to do, (he in fact encouraged illegal immigration by being for amnesty like all the other 2016 candidates but Trump), he might have deported the terrorist who were here on overstayed visas."

Sandy Hook NJ is well known to anyone in the NJ/NY area because it is mentioned whenever they give a marine weather forecast.

I suspect he was talking about Superstorm Sandy too (which impacted NYC greatly also). It also impacted Sandy Hook NJ :)

Trump is such a fantastic and tremendous guy that it’s OK for him to redefine the English language. Get over it.

I agree, but again, there is something going on there with the Bushes. Given how much Perot hated them, I’m starting to wonder what they did to people. Both GHWB and W seem like entirely decent people. Don’t care for yeb.

Perot is a whackjob. :)

My issues with Jeb go back to 1999 when he threw Ward Connerly under the bus. Remember that?

Funny the only thing Trump said was THE FACT that yes W was the POTUS at the time of 911. That’s a historical fact.

All the Jebby and Bush-Bots, who still think W was a conservative, go APE!

It is a FACT George W was POTUS when 911 happened.

Some of the Trump haters, are trying to TWIST what Trump said, and then attack that as if Trump said it.

It’s called the “Straw Man” argument where you say your opponent said something they never said..., and then you attack that point.

This more Establishment bull$hit in order to bring down Trump.

The low life Rat Jeb is also VERY AFRAID to remind people of this fact.

Get over it Establishment lovers!

Well, let’s look at this with some honesty. President GW Bush came into office at the beginning of January of 2001 ... The attacks occurred near mid September 2001 - a bit more than an 8 month span of time, during which president Bush had access to the same intelligence that the previous administration ignored. Eight months was more than sufficient to “take care of business,” but, for whatever reasons, President Bush did not act on the available intelligence. Perhaps he thought OBL was not so much of a threat. Perhaps his priorities were in a different direction than national security. He and his administration certainly did “come up to speed” rather quickly with the who, what, where and why facts immediately after the 9/11 attack. So the lintel was not inaccessible.

President GW Bush had a responsibility to prioritize according to the risk level of known threats - and OBL / AQ were definitely known and real threats to the U.S. President GW Bush had EIGHT months to properly understand and either prepare or otherwise act to neutralize this threat. He chose to follow President Clinton’s previous course of inaction. For whatever reason, something held his hand back.

President Clinton did not hide the info on OBL and AQ, he played it down ... But President GW Bush had to have known of the details - the particulars of the operation to kill OBL.

So, why did President Bush not pick up the baton and act where Clinton failed? I don’t suppose it would be that the Bush Dynasty is on very good terms with the House of Saud?

Perhaps many here do not like this to be pointed out - but the facts are that OBL and most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi nationals - and the Saudi Royals are known to be backing the brand of Wahhabi that OBL and AQ follow. More over there is (alleged) evidence that it was the Saudis who bankrolled Barrack Hussein Obama’s education and political aspirations.

The House of Saud is the enemy of the United States, and the only reason that the US government has not, and will not act to put this treacherous relationship to an end is oil - an interest in which the Bush Dynasty and the House of Saud share much in common.

Rick Rescorla was a very astute man - he understood immediately, after the first attack on the WTC in 1993, that OBL would one day make the attempt again. And so he decided to take the initiative and prepare for the unimaginable. Too bad our own government is so chalk full of effeminate loosers that no such foresight could ever penetrate their delusions of Lordship over the peasantry. The private sector works because real men have to face real obstacles and affect decisions that have real consequences for their business, their lives and their families ... That is why most people in business (not withstanding the constant malignity of government interference) tend to be responsible and successful - they make things happen ....

OTOH, Washington D.C. is full of pansy-asses, gibbering useless idiots - mental midgets who have delusions of kingship. They are do-nothings when it comes to affecting positive outcomes for this nation. Unfortunately, in today’s corrupt PC culture, the morally bankrupt and mentally incompetent dolts of the political class often rise to the top. And the American people must then live with the decisions and outcomes made by such fools.

More amazing still is the extent to which you establishment hacks will go so to maintain the status quo ... Different party - same group of maligning useless idiots and beltway suck-ups.

At least Donald Trump does not play favorites, does not pull his punches, says what he thinks, and does not spend the next several days trying to back peddle his way out of a remark, or “explain” to the PC nimrods “what he really meant to say.” - like the useless twits you GOPe jerk-offs champion.

He also previously stated his criticism thus:

TRUMP: I think I have a bigger heart than all of them. I think I’m much more competent than all of them. When you talk about George Bush—I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.

“... during his time.”

Funny that those suffering TDS conveniently ignore that phrasing in favor of the later that used the term “reign.”

But I suppose the anti-Trump camp must be selective so to score a point .... Good luck catching up to that 30+ point lead Trump has over most of his contenders.

Yes, he sure did - starting with the greatest political LIE ever told ...

“Islam is a religion of peace”

I wonder how many Americans and peoples of various nationalities have since died for reason of believing that abominable lie?

Either President GW Bush was a complete dunce of world history, or he was a propagandizing puppet for the Islamic world. Either way, he came across as an incredibly naive fool with that statement.

Uhm - and PRESIDENT GW Bush had no access to this very sane info? For the entire EIGHT months he was POTUS before the attacks occurred? Yes, Clinton fumbled the ball ... and GWB repeated his mistake by also failing to act on the intelligence which he certainly had access to.

Several years worth of planning and activity on American soil under one President, followed by eight months of "quiet" until the day of the attack.

So how did this all come to a head under Bush 43? Well, I think the chinese wall that Jamie Gorelick put in place during the Clinton Administration between the CIA and FBI played a big role too.

Not saying Bush 43 isn't culpable, just putting all the info on the table. Decide for yourself.

U.S. Defense radar look outward - not inward. Hard to find a plane when they have switched off the transponder. And what American fighter pilot in his right mind is going to “shoot down” a commercial airliner when their is no foreknowledge of what the problem is?

What, did you expect the POTUS to send in jets to shoot down a American CIVIL airliner that may have been off course for reason of some electronic or mechanical malfunction?

Nobody in ATC knew WTF was going on, and why would they suspect terrorism? Not until the second plane hit did the picture suddenly become clear - and by then it was already too late.

Real life does not unfold like a Hollywood movie script.

“So how did this all come to a head under Bush 43? Well, I think the Chinese wall that Jamie Gorelick put in place during the Clinton Administration between the CIA and FBI played a big role too.”

Absolutely. And the kicker is that Gorelick was on the 9/11 Commission - that was an absolute disgraceful show of hypocrisy.

Still, President Bush would have been briefed on national security issues upon his first week as C&C ... He would have been informed of the OBL assassination plan that Clinton lost nerve on. I suspect too that Bush would have had access to all the pre and post intelligence. Certainly he would have been aware of the publicly available documentation on all the previous attacks upon U.S. interests and assets prior to 9/11 ... Eight months is a long time to review the history, the intelligence, and to follow through with a plan of action.

Perhaps the greatest wrong that President GW Bush committed was to proclaim Islam “a religion of peace” ... That one assertion destroyed his credibility in the minds of many Americans - and particularly those with a sound knowledge of Islam’s “contributions” to world history.
