In the fall of 2013, our family received notice from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Colorado that we could no longer keep our private health-insurance plan because of “changes from health care reform (also called the Affordable Care Act or ACA).”
We liked our high-deductible preferred-provider-organization plan that allowed us to choose from a wide range of doctors. But ObamaCare wouldn’t let us keep it. Reluctantly, and after great bureaucratic difficulty, my hubby and I enrolled in an individual market plan with Rocky Mountain Health, which offered a much narrower provider network than the Anthem PPO plan we had before the feds snuffed it out.
Thanks to “reform,” our two kids’ dental care was no longer covered, and we had our post-ObamaCare insurance turned down at an urgent care clinic — something that had never happened before.

My wife just got her cancellation notice (I’m on medicare, she’s younger). That’s the third time one or both of us has been cancelled since Obamacide too effect.
I’m not looking forward to learning the amount of the new premium.
Here in NY State, the “co-op” Health Republic, which received God knows how much to start up in 2013, as announced they will close down Jan. 1
They lost $77 million in 2014 and $54 million in the first 6 months of 2015. NY State had granted them a 20% premium increase for 2016, but even with that, it was determined their losses would increase.
Now their 200,000 members will be screwed even harder by the remaining suppliers on “the exchange.”
Obamacare is basically a fascist system. Players can participate in a government controlled market only if they support all political and policy goals.
I did better negotiating with the hospital, surgeon and anesthetist after my recent surgery rather than carrying a Sh**care policy. I came in under the cost of a deductible for everything.
I miss my 250 a month 4 to 5K deductible major medical policy before it was outlawed by Sh**care.
The policies totally suck. 400 a month, 5-6K deductibles and 50% copay on the remainder. Completely useless.
I bought a low deductible PPO this year because of expectation of maxing it out with my pregnancy (I did until I had the baby and then the OOP went up with her being added). I fully expect a cancellation notice in the mail soon because they paid out more than I paid in this year.
I pay higher premiums.
I have higher deductibles.
And it seems that a lot of procedures are not covered at all.
Someone must be making out like a bandit with all of this free health care, but it sure isn’t me.
The policies are designed to subsidize Medicaid not offer health insurance.
The policies are designed to subsidize muslims that don’t have to carry insurance including all the refugees that are pouring in from Syria . It is a tax on all non muslims and nothing more .
Wait till lefties realize that all they have to do is convert to not be bothered to pay for it
