Lesson from McCarthy: The Era of Inevitability is Over (Conservatives 2, Establishment 0.)

Conservatives 2, Establishment 0.

When Mark Meadows introduced the resolution to depose John Boehner in July, the political world scoffed at him, noting that Boehner would inevitably fight-off any attempt to unseat him. This was an “ill-conceived” effort.

When Boehner’s inevitability turned into his demise a few weeks ago, we were told that Kevin McCarthy – the next political hack in line – would inevitably be the next Speaker. All resistance is futile. Even as recently as yesterday in Politico, establishment GOP members were taking shots at conservatives, acting as if they still held all the cards. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) said,

“The question isn’t on us, it’s on the so-called Freedom Caucus – I don’t call them the Freedom Caucus – do they want to be part of a united caucus, or do they want to continue how they are? A lot of us say this, I respect them as legislators, and a lot of them are my friends. But they got the scalp of [Speaker John] Boehner, in their mind, and I think we’re done giving them concessions.”

Today we got the news that Kevin McCarthy is pulling out of the race for Speaker.

These events didn’t occur in a vacuum. A group of disparate conservatives who languished ineffectively in the lower chamber for several years finally understood the leverage they have by joining together as a caucus. It first took the fortitude and courage of Meadows to kick off the fight against Boehner, which was really built upon the January effort pioneered by two dozen members who were willing to fight Boehner when the odds didn’t appear as auspicious for their side.

Add Eric Cantor.

3 Scalps on the Wall.

Any other RINOs want to stick their necks out?

No?

Ready for an actual conservative yet?

My count is 3-0. Cantor, Boehner, and McCarthy.

Ben Shapiro Twitterfeed:

If the GOP uses Dem votes to elect a speaker, that proves entire conservative complaint: establishment hates conservatives more than Dems.

So Daniel Webster is a leading contender for Speaker? He was a great Senator for my state of NH, but I don’t think he is available for the position these days.

Today we got the news that Kevin McCarthy is pulling out of the race for Speaker.

The ONLY reason he pulled out is because it was discovered that he couldn't keep his trousers zipped up.

Kin zinger is wrong. Without the Freedom Caucus the pubbies cannot elect a speaker. The leadership will turn to dim’s for survival.

The establishment hates conservatives as much as Ben Shapiro hates Trump. That being said Shapiro is pretty awesome most of the time and prayers for his family.

Ready for an actual conservative yet?

There are no more than 150 Members who would vote for a conservative for Speaker - there may not be 100.

So, whether you or I or anyone else is "ready for an actual conservative", the longer this goes on, the more likely it is that Pelosi or Hoyer will be the next Speaker.

Always remember that Dolly Madison chased Webster out of President Madison’s hospital room with a broom. Great orator, yes. Any sort of gentleman? Hardly, just another partisan pol.

‘There are no more than 150 Members who would vote for a conservative for Speaker - there may not be 100.’

No way would those fat cats leading committees give up those jobs and staffers to Dems. They will go with an honest conservative it, or a forthright person who, unlike Boehner’s, will listen respectfully instead of punishing.

“A group of disparate conservatives who languished ineffectively in the lower chamber for several years finally understood the leverage they have by joining together as a caucus.”

I call bullshit. It took House conservatives YEARS to figure out that joining a “caucus” would suddenly give them the power to act? Really? Years? And it’s all just a big coincidence that after all these years that this “caucus”-power suddenly happened a few weeks after everyone noticed Trump was killing a whole gaggle of GOPe RINO candidates in the polls?

What’s really happened,of course, is that Trump’s vociferous truth-telling and fearless neutering of the kommie media has been the catalyst that triggered a massive revolt amongst conservative voters who are infuriated at the GOPe Congress doing absolutely ZERO to stop Obama’s agenda, and suddenly the GOP RINO leadership is in full blown panic mode and in full blown retreat, and the SMALL conservative House contingent smelt blood in the water, took heart, and charged in against a weakened, frightened and paralyzed GOPe leadership.

The above is called the “Trump Effect”.
