Politico Magazine published an excerpt from Ambassador Dennis Ross latest book Doomed to Succeed: The USIsraeli relationship from Truman to Obama, which highlighted how President Barack Obama succeeded with the Iran Deal at the expense of the two allies relationship.
According to Ross, National Security Adviser Susan Rice told the national director of the Anti-Defamation League Abe Foxman that in reacting to the deal, which Israel knew little about, Netanyahu did everything but use the n-word in describing the president.
In his book, Ross argues that It didnt have to play out that way.
Per Politico:
From the outset of his presidency, Obama was focused on establishing what became known as the dual- track approach to Iran and its nuclear program: Be prepared to deal directly with the Iranians but also build our leverage with them. Engagement put pressure on the Iranians in two ways. First, talking to the United States created deep fissures in the Iranian elite. Second, if the Iranians balked at dealing directly with us, it made it far easier for us to mobilize sanctions against them. The hope was to alter Irans behavior through negotiations, but if the Iranians would not engage at all, or engaged but would not budge, we would then be able to garner international pressure on them to change course.
Israel was very much a factor in this approach. To forestall Israeli military action against what Israelis perceived as an existential threat, the president understood we needed to show we could apply meaningful pressure on the Iranians that would alter their nuclear program. In his first meetings with Netanyahu, in May 2009, Obama explained the logic of the dual trackwhich necessarily had to start with the effort at engagement. When Netanyahu asked how much time we would give engagementclearly fearing that the Iranians might just string us along as they proceeded with their nuclear developmentObama told him that if nothing happened before the end of the first year, we would pivot toward sanctions. To add to the credibility of our pressure on Iran, the president wanted the Israelis to understand that he meant it when he said that all options are on the table.
Still, the way the Obama administration limited Israels knowledge of the deal, this harmed the relationship between the two allies far more than [the U.S.] needed to.
That’s the way I read it too. Netanyahu didn’t use the “N” word. RICE did!
They will do anything to paint someone racist so that their truthful criticisms of barry can them just be safely groupthink ignored by libtards everywhere.
The “N” word? You mean, Nincompoop? Nerd? NEANDERTHAL??
True. But that would have been an insult to Prancing Lil Leather Fairies.
what you said!
Rice is a dummy. Netanyahu wouldn’t say the “N” word, he would call him a “Schwartza.”
If Netanyahu was an NBC, I’d vote for him, even if his vocabulary falls short of n-words.
Poor widdo Susan, using the micr0-aggression card because she has no other leg to stand on. Let the whining continue - gad it gets old.
Nagger
oh wait thats Moochelle my Belle
Nancy Boy
I bet Bibi used the “n word” off mike.
“Netanyahu” is the “n-word” for the Øbama administration.
Shut up Susan, you pompous, know-nothing windbag.
LOL!! Pictures of Pajama Boy give me the same reaction of someone running their fingernails on a chalk board. But if you look in the dictionary for Prancing Lil Leather Fairy you will see Pajama Boy’s picture.
Im my previous uses of the pajama boys image I had not yet animated his “flitting eyes.
I think this one nails em!!
More accurate. The upcoming election was the reason for the video lies. They didn't even care that they would soon be exposed for lying they were just buying time to get him re-elected.
People like Obama, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton are the scum of the earth.
“Netanyahu did everything but use ‘the n-word’ to describe Obama”
But Bibi DIDN’T use the “n-word”. Therefore this was not a racist rant at all, only a condemnation of some of the most egregious incompetence on the planet.
Agreed. The flitting eyes definitely increases his creep factor.
