University of Pennsylvania professor of religion recently called African-American presidential candidate Ben Carson a “coon” on Twitter.
Anthea Butler used the racist term in a tweet responding to a Sports Illustrated article on how Carson didn’t mind NASCAR fans flying the Confederate flag on private property. “If only there was a ‘coon of the year’ award…” she lamented.

Butler is hardly a new to making inflammatory comments on Twitter. In 2013, she declared that God is a “white racist . . . carrying a gun and stalking young black men.” When controversy ensued, she responded by bragging at the Harlem Book Fair that she had tenure and therefore couldn’t be fired.

Liberals always excuse each other when they exceed the behavioral, moral and ethical boundaries that apply to the rest of us because they know other liberals mean well and their motivation is pure.

Isn’t the reference to an American of African origin as a “coon” supposed to be a rather derogatory term? Right up there with the “N” word.
