The move is a blow to Britain and Americas mission to wipe out Islamic State but maintain an opposition to brutal dictator Assad
Russia has sent its crack special troops into Syria to back up President Bashar al-Assads bid to wipe out his opposition.
Vladimir Putins feared Spetsnaz unit and a covert para battalion ghosted into the war-torn country and are preparing for an all-out assault on rebels fighting the regime including moderate units such as the western-backed Free Syrian Army.
A military source said last night: Putins marines are there to guard the airbases they are using against sabotage by rebels. But Spetsnaz and air-assault troops are not there to provide security to static objects, they are extremely aggressive and highly trained.
They are there to mop up after air strikes, call in air strikes, go on extremely covert missions against rebels and ultimately wipe them out.

Hey, there was a female Spetsnaz in there! Freepers do not approve.
You sound very familiar. You sure your name is not Donald J. Trump?
More and more assets and capabilities going into Syria from Russia.
What was President curtain hanger doing today?
I believe the biggest problem the Soviets had in Afghanistan was US Stinger missiles. If I remember correctly Afghani’s were getting their buts kick until Stingers showed up.
Not sure what you're getting at Jim, but that's what the "opposition" was initially called (the Free Syrian Army).
Russia knows what to do, how to get it done, and will just do it. It is however odd to be pulling for Russia against the demons of satanic Islam. What America needs to see coming is the backlash from the ISSIS we have equipped and aided, since we will not stop Russia from annihilating the ones stupid enough to stick around. The ones running away will have to do terrorist evil in America to ‘save face’ with the Islamic insanity world.
Amen.

Check out what they do after they win the crimson beret. The sign of the cross.
Well, they’ll either kill a bunch of evil ISIS scum or will get caught in a quagmire trying. Pretty much a win-win for me.
Israel could pay the highest price.
The country I live in spent the past 20 years disarming and trying to figure out how to integrate LGBTs. Putin modernized his military during that time, thanks to free access to Western technology. It will soon show.
Putin has tried to make some improvements to his military, but for the most part they are still two generations behind and their command and control still sucks - they still don’t allow their small unit commanders to exercise initiative.
I understand your sentiments, but the Russian military is far behind us at the moment. A few more Progressive administrations will be necessary to lessen the gap because our technology and training is still superior. However while we enjoy dominance, our political leadership is pathetic and our rules of engagement make any fight difficult.
With that said, the Spetsnaz with air support will be more than a match for their enemies in Syria. They are a very aggressive infantry force much like our Rangers.
ISIS will just retreat to Germany and the United States.
Putin and Assad fueled ISIS’ creation, about time they took care of it.
Free Syrian Army. Is that like the February 17th Martyrs Brigade? Our leaders sure know how to pick em. We spent $500 million to train about a half dozen of these guys. The should be real supermen.
Wikipedia:
However many Russian military analysts tend to be dismissive of the impact to the Stinger. According to Alan J. Kuperman, Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev decided to withdraw from Afghanistan a year before the mujahideen fired their first Stinger missiles, motivated by U.S. sanctions, not military losses. The stingers did make an impact at first but within a few months flares, beacons, and exhaust baffles were installed to disorient the missiles, along with night operation and terrain-hugging tactics to prevent the rebels from getting a clear shot. By 1988, Kuperman states, the mujahideen had all but stopped firing them.[124] Another source (Jonathan Steele) states that stingers forced Soviet helicopters and ground attack planes to bomb from higher altitudes with less accuracy, but did not bring down many more aircraft than Chinese heavy machine guns and other less sophisticated antiaircraft weaponry.”
I'm not convinced Obammy has any real desire to wipe out ISIS.
