Trump Declares War On Obamatrade: ‘Time To Send A Real Businessman’ To White House To End This
Breitbart ^ | 10/05/15 | Matthew Boyle

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump is hammering President Barack Obama, his administration and Congress for completely failing the American worker when it comes to trade policy—whacking the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade pact with 12 Pacific Rim nations that the Obama just finalized in Atlanta as a deal that jeopardizes U.S. jobs.

“The incompetence and dishonesty of the President, his administration and—perhaps most disturbing—the Congress of the United States are about to place American jobs and the very livelihoods of Americans at risk,” Trump tells Breitbart News in an exclusive statement reacting to the news that the president and his negotiators have wrapped the highly secretive they have been negotiating for the past several years on Monday morning.

“The only entities to benefit from this trade deal will be other countries, particularly China and Japan, and big corporations in America,” Trump tells Breitbart News.

The small business operators, farmers, manufacturers and others will again be burdened with unfair trade practices, currency manipulation, exploitation of cheap labor, an onerous tax code and no help coming from the very people charged with putting America first. If crony capitalism were not bad enough, then sticking it to unions, small businesses and everyday Americans seems to be the new blood sport inside the DC Beltway.

Trump said that the lack of transparency throughout the secret negotiations should prove that the deal is horrendous.

“If this was such a good deal, why was there not more transparency?” Trump said.

Have you read the Asian trade agreement? I have not. But Obama/Hillary negotiated it, so if the past 6.75 years are any indication, we Americans are pretty much screwed.

You live happily ever after.

Paying more for what I buy isn't going to make me happy.

Nobody knows what the hell you want.

I want a real conservative to be nominated. I want Ted Cruz.

It’s the end of the republic and the end of sovereignty.

Notice country of origin labels are vanishing ?

They already have tariffs but they don’t call them tariffs. Also, massive currency manipulation.

I have no problem with Senator Cruz.
I support him.

Your ridiculous attacks on a businessman that wants his country back are unwarranted. I don’t see you asking anything of Senator Cruz that you ask of Trump.

These gentlemen are appealing to different ways of getting the electorate thinking. I believe they have the same outcome in their motivation. Neither of them are naive.

Typical MSM shallow analysis. But I did learn something:

The countries taking part — Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the U.S. and Vietnam — together make up 40% of the world's economy.

The sugar rush of your 5% discount (if that) will be taken out of you with more government program, lower growth and more taxes on you since the tax base has vanished.

But enjoy the sugar rush.

We impose tariffs on the goods we import from them, they place tariffs on the stuff they import from us. What next?

Good bye trade deficit.

Now we know why the drunk Boehner...wants to delay stepping down.

This collaborating drunk rat is going to sell out his country one more time..... to ensure Obama-trade happens.

In the meanwhile the Rats in the media will keep telling you the lie that it’s so good, and that is why they are hiding it from the public. It’s just like Obamacare. You have to pass it to find out what’s in it.

Although China is not part of the 12 countries in the TTP, it seems China won.

Trans-Pacific Partnership Winners: Toyota, Japanese Automakers Could Still Use Mostly Chinese Car Parts While Enjoying Reduced Tariffs Under TPP

The question of “rules of origin” for auto parts had been a stumbling block in discussions on the Trans-Pacific Partnership until the end of September, when Mexican and Canadian negotiators appeared to relent and allow the majority of a vehicle's parts to be sourced from outside the 12 countries that are parties to the regional trade deal. Those negotiators ultimately aimed for 45 percent of auto parts to be bought locally, while Japanese negotiators had sought a 32.5 percent floor for local parts, Reuters reported. Because the final text of the deal has not been published, the ultimate percentage remains unclear. But either option would allow for the majority of a vehicle's components to be sourced from outside TPP countries.

OK. we are screwed!

http://www.vox.com/2015/4/17/8438995/why-obamas-new-trade-deal-is-so-controversial

In 2011, Australia enacted a tough new anti-smoking law that requires cigarette companies to distribute their wares in plain green packages. Anti-smoking activists see Australia's law as a model for the world. They hope that replacing logos with graphic health warnings will make them less appealing to consumers, especially minors.

Naturally, tobacco companies hated the law. And they found a surprising way to fight back: they persuaded governments in Ukraine and Honduras to file complaints with the World Trade Organization, alleging that the new regulations violated global trade rules.

The case is ongoing, and we don't know how the WTO will rule. But this dispute comes up over and over again in debates about the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a massive new trade deal that is expected to be completed in the next few months. The Obama administration says the deal will expand global trade and bolster America's leadership in Asia. But critics say the treaty will lead to a lot more disputes like the one in Australia, where powerful interest groups try to use trade rules to overrule democratically elected governments.

The TPP covers a bewildering range of topics. In addition to conventional trade issues like tariff rates, it includes language on labor rights, environmental laws, copyright and patent protections, e-commerce, state-owned enterprises, corruption, and government procurement.

Trade deals like the TPP have grown so complex because the global trade community has figured out how to solve a problem that has bedeviled philosophers and political leaders for centuries: how to craft international agreements with teeth. The WTO’s dispute-settlement process, which serves as a model for the TPP, puts pressure on countries to actually keep the promises they make in trade deals. That's why everyone with an agenda — wealthy investors, drug companies, labor unions, environmental groups, and so on — is scrambling to get on the bandwagon.

But the complex, secretive, and anti-democratic way the TPP is being crafted rubs a lot of people the wrong way. The agreement will have profound and long-lasting effects on countries that sign on, yet voters in those countries won't even be allowed to see the text until negotiations are over and it's too late to make changes. No wonder so many groups — the AFL-CIO, civil liberties groups like the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and even the free traders at the Cato Institute — have been raising concerns about it.

I’m shocked the thread was invaded by a free traitor, lol.
Trump’s comments are patriotic and certainly not what a chamber of commerce republican would say. I watched my own state systematically destroyed one industry after another by the Japanese many years ago. Those they couldn’t destroy they bought out. Our one last remaining large scale industry Aerospace is being attacked obliquely by the Chinese now. One of the last major manufacturers in this industry is talking about building a manufacturing plant there now. This is after recent propaganda the Chinese have a mach five piloted vehicle. Since when is treachery free trade. What do you think will be done with this facility if a war started.

Canada's POV and a very good article, must read:

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/is-the-trans-pacific-partnership-really-a-good-deal-for-canada-or-is-it-just-nafta-on-steroids

It is being touted as one of the biggest free-trade deals in history — but is it good for Canada?

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), currently under negotiation between 12 Pacific Rim countries, will give Canadian businesses greater access to foreign markets — and 800-million new customers — through the elimination of tariffs and barriers, supporters say.

But critics call it “NAFTA on steroids,” warning that a deal will weaken protections that the dairy and poultry industries currently enjoy, lead to further erosion of the manufacturing sector and threaten everything from Internet freedom to the operation of Crown corporations.

Very Important and where Obama screwed American Labor:

Japanese and American negotiators have reportedly agreed to lower the domestic-content requirement to 30 per cent for auto parts and to 45 per cent for vehicles. By comparison, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, stipulates that domestic content for auto parts and vehicles must be more than 60 per cent.

Big Pharma won and if you are anti generic you will not like the trade deal:

Leaked portions of the deal suggest that the standard 20-year patent protections for brand-name pharmaceuticals could be extended, which, critics say, would delay cheaper, generic drugs from entering the marketplace.

There are also provisions that would prevent drug regulators from using existing clinical data to approve generic drugs. Thus, companies developing these generic versions would have to duplicate test results, further delaying their entry into the market.

Doctors Without Borders has warned the TPP is “on track to become the most harmful trade pact ever for access to medicines in developing countries.”

“It’s basically creating and defending many monopolies,” said Steve Cornish, executive director of Doctors Without Borders in Canada. “It certainly has the intent of keeping prices artificially high and keeping competition out of the market.”

Other important stuff:
The deal would reportedly extend terms of copyright on creative work before it enters the public domain from the current 50 years after the death of the artist to 70 years.

Internet Service Providers could also have new powers to disable or block websites that violate copyright laws.

Critics say these so-called “digital locks” prevent artists, filmmakers and writers to use others’ works as part of their creative output. Schools and libraries would also have to pay higher fees for access.

Good bye trade deficit.

Well if you're not importing anything and not exporting anything then you do have a balance of trade.
