Bring back Patton! Trump boomed to a cheering audience, referencing the aggressive American general from World War II, George Patton, who won the Battle of the Bulge.
*snip*
Trump continued on the theme of great American military leaders of the past. I liked McArthur. You know, in the history of West Point, he had the highest marks. . . He would get off his plane with the corn cob pipe and the high hat and hed say Here I am, you mess with me, go ahead, mess with me, he pointed out.
But today, Trump added, its different.
So theyre interviewing recently this general on televisionfirst of all, he shouldnt be on television, doing an interview, right? he said as the audience applauded. Hes supposed to be unpredictable, Trump emphasized.
Ive been using that term. They said I did this great deal recently. It was a great business deal. And my other side, they were tough, but I beat em, Trump explained.
They said, You know we dont like Donald Trump but I have to tell you he was really tough to beat because hes so damn unpredictable. We couldnt predict what his moves were.
And I said to myself, our country has to be unpredictable, Trump added to more cheers.

I beg to differ: this was a counterinsurgency, not WWII. The overarching plan was to keep the harmless locals alive while defeating the NVA and VC on what battlefields we could pin them to.
Bombing Hanoi and invading the North weren't what would have won the war - they more likely would have drawn the Soviets and Chinese further into the fight.
Counterinsurgencies require lots of skill and lots of time. As it turned out we didn't have the time. Between the Leftist pro-enemy "antiwar" demonstrations, an inept and uncommitted government, weasely Democrats, and an altogether astonishing number of people willing to let the rest of us carry the fight, the American people just gave up on us.
We demonstrated that we had enough resolve for 8 years anyway.
Thanks for the tip.
when he talks about Putin in Syria Trump's saying there is not much we can do about Obamas Epic Foreign Policy Failures. (Trump is responding to a question from MSM)
Yes, I get this; but I still am not convinced Trump knows what is the best way to go since he did say we should not have gone into Iraq in the first place. Granted, Bush defended the invasion poorly, but their were 14 EXCELLENT reasons why we went in, and everyone focused on just one reason.
Trump is saying he will receive advice from tough winner take all generals
Not sure what you mean by "he will receive advice from tough winner take all generals", please clarify.
By the way, thank you for keeping it polite.
But then, you probably think that we should not have gone into Iraq yourself, just like what liberals think.
You have no idea what I think, so let me give you a clue....I think you have completely gone off of the deep end, due to your TDS.
You’ve tried (unsuccessfully) to circle around every false claim you’ve made about Trump. Everytime you’ve been called out on one of your fabrications, you evade questions and change subjects.
Look, I’m sorry that Sen Cruz is not polling higher. I don’t go jumping onto Cruz threads bashing him and making up things, just because I support Trump.
If Cruz truly is your guy, why don’t you happily support him on the Cruz threads? Put the same effort into supporting Cruz, that you do in bashing Trump. It might just benefit your candidate.
I am done with you on Trump threads...
.....I hope you are done with Trump threads ;-)
You are deliberately confusing the issue; I am asking what points are being asked.
You've evaded multiple questions after shooting off your mouth mocking the lack of service of others.
Where have I done this?
Yet you refuse to even answer a basic question about your own military service.
Who's has asked me this? If someone who wants to give an opinion about the Mid East, I could care less whether or not someone has served.
What a piece of work you are. This thread is yours junior. You own it. Have fun!☺
You are the only "junior" here sweetie, by-by.
I have only respect for your father, and for you for coming from such brave stock.
Patton could be difficult: one must wonder how anyone would have fared serving under him.
I don’t think he had much at all to do with Corsica.
I agree in that I don’t think Patton understood combat fatigue.
Still, he would not have slapped or pistol-whipped a man who was not inducted into the Army, or he would have been a busy man indeed.
You were the first to give your ideas of what I think.
I think you have completely gone off of the deep end, due to your TDS.
There you go again, saying what you think I think. I actually like Trump, he's just not my first choice.
Youve tried (unsuccessfully) to circle around every false claim youve made about Trump. Everytime youve been called out on one of your fabrications, you evade questions and change subjects.
Such as? I've answered every question that pertained to my first post.
Look, Im sorry that Sen Cruz is not polling higher. I dont go jumping onto Cruz threads bashing him and making up things, just because I support Trump.
Well, if you don't have any concerns about Cruz, I can see why you would not go to those threads. And you are the one making things up!
If Cruz truly is your guy, why dont you happily support him on the Cruz threads? Put the same effort into supporting Cruz, that you do in bashing Trump. It might just benefit your candidate.
It's easy enough to see my other threads, or else you would know otherwise.
I am done with you on Trump threads... .....I hope you are done with Trump threads ;-)
Not until proven otherwise. Seriously, I am able to defend Trump a whole lot better then most of the "Trump or Nothing" crowd here - by-by!
Thanks for the links....Chas Payne is a good guy...a smarty, too!
Trump—When you take office—Jaunary 21, 2017, pardon General Petraeus, put him in charge of the AEF (American Expedition Force) and with Russia and China, crush ISIS.
Bam!
Noticed the similarities between Trump and Patton some time ago.
I’d be proud of that comparison if I were Mr Trump.
Yes, I get this; but I still am not convinced Trump knows what is the best way to go since he did say we should not have gone into Iraq in the first place. Granted, Bush defended the invasion poorly, but their were 14 EXCELLENT reasons why we went in, and everyone focused on just one reason.
Agreed. We don't know exactly how dangerous Saddam was but we do know that Bush won the Iraq War and Obama lost the Peace. Furthermore, Saddam did have WMD. But knowing how horribly Obama has managed America's foreign policy, in that light if I could wave a magic wand.......yada yada yada.
From the NYT, no less and on their Front Page no less:

And don't forget the 500 tons of uranium shipped from Iraq to Canada in 2008.

Jane can and did speak. But I had to read your drivel and your ignoring the question repeatedly so I can post about it.
You have obviously lost the short debate because you have been reduced to profanity. The evidence of low IQ, no doubt.
Agree. Trump’s changed the dynamics of everything about this race. He’s changed what we *normally* hear candidates discuss/debate, he’s changed the rules of action and he’s even changed how the media interview a Presidential candidate. Their gotchas don’t work, on Trump.
“My military service, or not, isn’t relevant. Under different circumstances or another candidate, neither would Trump’s.”
You’re the one who made the lack of military service an issue.
But once that same argument gets applied to you, you decide that it’s unfair.
If you have an objection to that line of questioning then you’ll have to take it up with the one who first decided it was a good idea. You.
