U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said he favors committing U.S. ground troops to a multinational military coalition that would enter Syria and create safe zones for refugees fleeing the war-torn nation.
Johnson, a first-term Republican, spoke Friday at Madison-Kipp Corp. in Madison, at an event to mark Wisconsin Manufacturing Month.

Johnson said he doesnt know how many U.S. ground troops would be required for the effort. Russias recent involvement in the region may complicate it, he added.

Johnsons Syria stance puts him in line with other hawkish GOP senators, including Republicans Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John McCain of Arizona, who also have called for U.S. troops in Syria.
Graham also is a presidential candidate. Another GOP presidential hopeful, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, also spoke Friday in favor of a ground coalition to create safe zones in Syria.

NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!
Obama has proven himself only capable of sowing chaos & getting our troops & allies killed & wounded. He prosecutes our soldiers who kill the enemy. Scooby Dog would make a better commander.
And Obama could blunder us into WWIII.
As for Russia, it is no sure winner. An Orthodox Russian bishop has called for a Holy War against muslims. Russia has sided with the Shiites vs. the Sunnis. There are far more Sunnis than Shiites worldwide. If Vlad wants a Holy War, he may just get one, along with a million suicide bombers roaming from St. Petersburg to Tehran. The focus of terrorism could shift from the West to Russia & its allies.
The solution to Russian aircraft bombing our “Syrian rebel allies” is MANPADS - shoulder & ground fired anti-aircraft missiles. That will keep the Russian planes & choppers at bay. It worked in Afghanistan; it will work just as well in Syria/Iraq.
To be killed by Russians?
Wait ! I know, somehow make it a NATO operation, like the Rape of Libya. /s

A little late for that.
OK, so no Russky boots on the ground, BUT there will be boots on the ground, doing the door to door task.
Sure is a lot of "war against Russia" talk coming from the usual losers...not much talk about bombing ISIS, though.
