"I'm not trying to say that they're to blame for what happened. But if Chris had not been able to get hold of 13 guns it wouldn't have happened." CNN just interviewed the father of the murderer of nine people at Umpqua Community College this week, and though he claims he is not blaming guns, he spent most of the interview doing that exact thing.
"That's what guns are. The killers. It's as simple as that. It's black and white," he says. Guns are the killers. Not his son.

When ISIS beheads someone does Ace here blame the sword?
How do we know this guy is the ‘dad’.
All the reports that came out previous to today said that the father was ‘unknown’.
Today, all of a sudden, we have ‘dad’ speaking to the press.
I don’t believe any of this.
i think maybe the father was putting blame on the mother (killer lived with his mother) for giving the kid access to the guns knowing he had emotional problems. the media of course would twist this around to make it look like the father is “anti gun”.
Or the father IS anti gun and also wants to fault the mother.
Good thing that he didn’t run them down with his car...he would want to blame General Motors for their deaths....PATHETIC.
Moron is worried about lawsuits.
I was almost killed this week by a car. It just so happened there was a person in the drivers seat, but it was the car that caused my injuries. So I can sympathize with the shooters son, like I can with the driver of the vehicle. NOT!! I see a case of Deep Pockets coming, I hope the guns have good attorneys, this may be the one the Liberals try to score on.
Dads in denial are pathetic
Lol. Oh, that's a good one.
Actually the father is playing it smart, he knows that if he goes after guns, the media will defend him and not bring up the God awful parenting that he did with this deranged lunatic..deflecting the issue is what liberals do best, so this guy has learned from the playbook, when all else fails just blame guns and the media will be in your corner
I blame the run away father.
Pump, pop and go is not acceptable.
I blame the PARENTS!!!
Little snot nosed spoiled brat never had a second of discipline in his life!
My late wife took her life with a gun.

As did my father 40 years ago. Mom’s a month shy of being 95 now and I’ve never heard her blame the gun and she’s not sensitive in any way being around guns. She’s aware of who killed dad and it wasn’t the gun, it was dad.
I credit my dad’s sickness for playing a part in his decision too.
Absolutely.
So if your son had gotten hold of a suicide vest, it would be the fault of 5he suicide vest and not your son, right?
Dumbass seems to breed in CA. It must be something in the water.
This father is in big denial. I’m sure he is just looking at it from a practical standpoint. If he had no guns he would not have been able to shot anyone. Well yeah. That is a no brainer. How about talking about his son’s mental state and how that contributed to the situation. Better yet, talk about how you were never involved in the boy’s life so any possible positive support you could have provided was not there. Maybe your response is a reaction to the fact that your failure as a father played a huge part in his loneliness and lack of self esteem.
Ian, here is a heaping helping of F*ck off from Eugene, Oregon. Your son was a murderer and a coward - where did he learn that from, you or his mother?
Follow the money.
“Umm...knives, axes, swords, etc. can be used to kill someone.”
And let’s not forget cars & planes have also been used to commit murder.
