Guns are, in a word, perfect.
Guns are unparalleled, really; they are small masterpieces of precision engineering, one of humanity’s most deliberate, perfectly designed tools. There is simply no denying a gun’s intention, no possible misunderstanding of its reason for existing.
Unlike cars, knives, drugs, alcohol or any other freely available, potentially deadly items which can (and do) kill lots of people, guns are the only commercially available instrument in the world that we designed specifically for the purpose of the eradication of life. A gun’s nature is, as they say in the tech world, baked in to the hardware. It understands nothing else.

Typical Bull. A firearm is designed to send one, or more, projectiles in the direction chosen by the PERSON who uses them. Can they be used to kill - of course - but, they also are routinely used to protect. The person choses, and is responsible for the outcome, not the tool.
You better believe that some do. Then there is the cohort that doesn't really believe it, but peddles it in order to disarm those who would defy their will. That would be the government.
While true in that statement, they have MULTIPLE uses much like an adjustable "crescent" wrench, jack knife, hammer, shovel, etc. etc........ Pretty obvious the initial description was written by a liberal.
Compare shootings in ‘Gun Free Zones’ with no firearms to Gun Show shootings, where there are multiple firearms.
The writer somehow missed the two most important purposes of guns: to deter criminals and self defense. In both cases the mere presence of guns often can achieve those purposes without kiling. And if that isn’t possible, why can’t the writer accept the concept of justifiable homicide?

Guns are perfect. But, people are not. There will always be people who wish to harm other people. Most of us do not spend out life training in various martial arts to defend ourselves in that one life or death moment when another person chooses to end our own precious life.
So, we use a tool. The intent of the tool does not make it good or evil.
To be honest, if you want to end the “gun culture” ban guns from TV and movies. But your leftist Hollywood friends need guns and explosions and car chases to make their boring stories interesting. So you’ll never hear about reducing the number of shots fired in movies.
(Note: I am not really advocating taking guns and car chases out of movies. Those are the best parts of movies these days.)
