Friday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said presidential candidates and Congress were “complicit” in mass shootings like the one in Oregon yesterday because they are not endorsing and passing gun control laws. Blumenthal said, “My hope is this latest horrific unspeakable tragedy will galvanize the Congress, but more importantly galvanize the American people to demand from Congress it end its complicity, and it is really complicity, in these massacres and 30,000 deaths that occur every year.”

The only thing complicit in these type slaughters is the stupid “Gun Free Zones. Every time you enter one of these havens for the mentally disturbed you increase your chances of not coming out alive. Stay away from them if you possibly can.
Yes, politicians who push dumb gun laws that prevent citizens from arming themselves so they can effectively deal with criminals and maniacs should be punished.
The states have delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate guns for the armed forces as evidenced by the Constitution’s Clause 12 of Section 8 of Article I.
But I don’t see anywhere in the Constitution where the states have constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate intrastate arms for civilians (corrections welcome). And given FDR’s reputation for ignoring the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers, I find it disturbing that federal gun laws regulating civilian arms seem to have started appearing in the books while he was president.

But let’s not let the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Senate off the hook. The low-information, FDR-era Senate shouldn’t have helped to pass civilian gun control laws without the constitutional authority to do so.
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who help to pass unconstitutional gun control bills along with it.
People who coerced students and teachers to disarm in order to enjoy the services of the publicly subsidized school are complicit. They made it so that not one single person was capable of stopping the murderer - not even the security staff! One hero stepped forward and gave his life in the attempt to stop the scumbag, using his body to stop the killer. If he had been allowed his civil right, human right, constitutional right that hero may have been alive today and this tragedy might have been lessened or averted. Indeed, it seems pretty clear that these murderers deliberately choose places where they know they will encounter no resistance. Politicians who create these environments need to be held accountable. Nobody would put a sign in front of their house “we have cash & jewels are are unarmed please don’t rob us” and likewise no place should advertise that people are sitting ducks for killers.
Constitution? 2nd Amendment? Real black and white words there.
When law abiding students can conceal carry on campus this crap will cease.
What was it Trump said....we vote for really stupid people...or words to that affect. Sen. Richard Blumenthal comes as close to filling that picture imho....
And politicians who constantly push more gun control and encourage nut-jobs to go on mass shooting sprees to further the cause should be held accountable too......

CT has strict gun control laws, therefor it is safe to walk around Hartford at night, right?
Or like this young man Chris Mintz who did his best to stop the shooter much like the three young Americans in France who used their intelligence and stopped a terrorist, all acting like adults/men. Chris Mintz could have used some back up......God bless him!
The dems should be voted out for not providing adequate security at schools.

Was talking to grandson today about the Oregon shooting. His final response, “Well I do believe it’s your turn Grams to buy another gun and some more ammo before those idiots say we can’t”.

Because that is what they want. It looks like they are actively trying to disarm their opponents in advance. This concerns me.
