Bobby Jindal hits Ted Cruz for supporting Donald Trump

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is trying to inject life into his campaign for president by hitting two birds with one tweet.

The Republican, who is languishing near the bottom of the pack in polling, stepped up his attacks on front-runner Donald Trump on Friday -- and this time, he included Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in his line of fire.

@TedCruz why won't you stand up to @RealDonaldTrump on single payer healthcare? That's not conservative leadership," Jindal tweeted, with a link to a post on his website.

In the post, Jindal accuses Trump of supporting government-run health care for all, seizing on "60 Minutes" comments from Trump that he would "take care of everybody" and "the government's gonna pay for it."

Jindal labeled it "TrumpCare."

The post takes fellow candidate Cruz to task for not repudiating Trump. Cruz has largely avoided insulting Trump, and Trump has returned the favor.

"Even conservative senators like Ted Cruz are complicit," Jindal wrote. "He has distinguished himself by praising Trump's positions and clinging to his events, in the hope of picking up his votes when he eventually fades."

Cruz's campaign declined to comment.

In the "60 Minutes" interview, Trump said he would replace Obamacare with a much better system.

"I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not," Trump said. "I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. ... The government's gonna pay for it. But we're going to save so much money on the other side."

His parents were LEGAL aliens, thus “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Which means Jindal was a citizen at the moment of his birth.

There is NO definitive authority that defines “Natural-born citizen” so as to exclude any person who was a citizen at the moment of birth.

He’s hurting himself...cutting strings for a future in politics. He should be talking about HIS agenda and trying to sell it to the public. Snipping at Cruz and Trump ankles won’t help him.

I do not have a horse in this race as of yet so I neither defend, nor advocate for any Republican candidate at this time. IMO it's still waaaaaay too early.

Too true. But, I digress.

I like Cruz. There is a single issue with him that I disagree but think Sean Hannity and the House of Representatives can bulldog him onto the right path.

Otherwise, I want him to win. That is usually the kiss of death for any candidate...that I want him to win.
