My daughter is a police officer and was a paramedic before that. They don’t joke when they come upon mass casualties. Only bystanders who think they’re cool have the ability to do that.

Why do you think cops and first responders often have to go to counseling or even take leave after particularly horrible things?

Nobody responding on this thread is a first responder to this incident. That the first thing that occurred to people was to start making crude jokes or speculating on the political affiliations of those killed is disgusting.

This is obviously a personal issue for you. Apparently my disagreement with you means I’m somehow offending your paramedic police officer daughter. Well that’s certainly a fair way to argue. Especially if I want to point out that you don’t know everything that goes on with her at work. Crude jokes about horrifying things are a well established part of emergency work, in context. Sorry to pop that bubble for you. Though I don’t understand why emergency workers needing counseling supports your position, actually it more supports mine, since I’m arguing for a stress-relief interpretation.

As for speculation on a shooter’s political position, grow up. ALL mass shooters are liberals. That’s a fact. And it means something very important, that could save lives if people like you didn’t go into denial over it.
