Responding to parents who complained about the distribution at public schools of a map which labeled Israel as Palestine, the City of Paris said it was the result of a simple production error.
The citys media department gave the explanation in a statement it published Friday about the distribution earlier this year to elementary school pupils of a calendar that contains a map of Europe and parts of the Middle East.
The map, which ends north of central Israel and the West Bank, designates the territory of Israel included in it as Palestine, alongside Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey. In addition to omitting Israels name, it contains no mention of Saudi Arabia and Jordan, though it contains parts of those countries, according to a reproduction of the map published by the news site Jssnews.com.

In defense of the school, publishing errors do happen. Just the other day, I was looking at an 1941 map of France. Part of the country was labeled with just the name of a city. I believe it was Vichy.
Yeah, right.
Just a typo.
Will fix it in the next edition ... five years from now.
I got no problem with that, as long as they are honest about it and label France as “New Algeria”.
Suuuuurrrre. And I got a bridge to sell ya.
My future map of France has it being labeled as Northern Algeria.
If they want to correct the ‘production error’ they need to seed the moslem slums with tonnes of saltpeter or develop a working ‘progesterex’ for use in those moslem slums. After 50 years, no more problem!
Even make a nice profit.
