Pope Francis met a Kentucky county clerk last week who was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, the Vatican said on Wednesday, confirming earlier reports from the United States.

Really? When did this happen? Did he give her moral support? Why wasn’t it publicly announced? Did the pope sneak away from the media and his handlers to meet her?
It was a recruiting meeting
“Why wasnt it publicly announced?”
You’re kidding, right? Why would they throw a wrench into their god’s LGBTQ agenda by allowing millions of Americans to hear about it and support her.
Popey probably had to satisfy some of his “allies” in the Vatican by meeting with her for show.
RE: Vatican confirms pope met Kentucky clerk in gay marriage row
Why the need to make the meeting “secret”?
from the article:
“Kim Davis and her husband met the pope during the Washington leg of his visit to the United States”
total media black out, if they knew.
Oh boy, he’s gonna lose a lot of fans.
The story I read: She asked him to pray for her, they hugged, she wept, and he gave her rosaries for her and her husband. He told her to stay strong. Reportedly she is giving the rosaries to her parents, who are Catholic. Nice gesture.
I know. The shine is off the left's newly minted pope.
From this point I will be referring to the man in the funny white hat as Mr. Pope.
That gets me too. It’s nice to hear he met with her. Yet he did so with a media blackout, when the media was giving saturation coverage to his other activities on his visit to America. How strange.
If true
I’m happy
My legal housekeeper went to see the Pope and had been selected to be touched or blessed whatever it’s called in a receiving line in Philly
A little devout Amerindian woman of mexican birth of course
It affected her profoundly
She sure gives the appearance of someone bathed in the Holy Spirit
She and my wife had a good hug and cry
And we’re old school southern Baptists
He is a lib I think but his affect on parishioners is profound
I’m ambivalent but we adore this little woman and I don’t doubt her sincerity
“but offers words of encouragement to a woman who stands for her Christian values in secret?”
Priests, including the Pope, keep private meetings private.
Kim Davis is free to report on this as much as she likes. But the Pope would never make public what is said in a private meeting.
According to Kim Davis’s account Pope Francis offered her encouragement and support, gave her a gift of rosaries and encouraged her to remain strong.
Mysterious ways, indeed.
Real personal experience counts a lot more with me than all these pundits who try to tell me what this, that or the other thing means.
“My kingdom is not of this world....” goes a lot deeper than we think.
She's had the experience of her life! I am personally thrilled for her!!!
Thank you so much for including me in your ping.
I am Roman Catholic and although not a fan of this Pope, I grew to like him and much better understand him during his visit to our country. My heart will always remain with Pope Benedict XVI and I'm interested in following up on the articles and the one book now out on the vile behind-the-scenes-skullduggary that led to his resignation.
