Putin could care less about ISIS.
This is all about a power grab.
Nothing less. Nothing more.
However if Putin ends up mopping the deck with ISIS, that isn’t a bad thing. Everyone knows that Russia has traditionally wanted warm water ports and to extend their influence into the Middle East in a major way, stopping that now may not be possible.
What would you recommend as the U.S. response?
More it is a blocking action against the proposed Saudi-European gas pipeline.
Muslim Brotherhood=ISIS=Obama=Saudis
Most of the people posting positive stuff about Putin and Russian intentions I suspect know and understand that. They are our resident Putinistas. The others apparently just don't know very much about Putin and Russia, of their long history of deceptive tactics, their history of terrorism, their consistent support of our enemies, and their current expansionist aims.
Russia is currently preparing a massive attack on the Ukraine, building TWO major military bases on their border with them. They are also on closer than ever terms with the ChiComs, conducting annual joint war games and building a large seaport together, all with the obvious intent of countering the US and its NATO allies. And now they're seeking to grab control of the Middle East with all of its invaluable natural and other strategic resources.
Putin can have the middle east. We’re pretty energy independent at his point no matter how hard chairman obama tries to ruin it.

Dittoe that!
