Rush compares Trump tax plan to this former president’s…

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump unveiled his tax plan this morning. And, predictably, it’s getting mixed reviews like the candidate himself. Indeed, you might think the interpretations of Trump’s tax plan are a Rorshach test revealing the biases of the reviewer, when you see one source describing the plan as “populist-sounding,” while the next claims the plan “proves” Trump is “not a populist.” Some worried about the cost of the plan — including the candidate himself, who proclaimed his own plan will cost him “a fortune” — while one labeled it a “con that benefits corporations and the wealthiest Americans.”

One of the more interesting commentaries, perhaps, came from conservative talker Rush Limbaugh, who offered his evaluation of Trump’s plan on his Monday radio show. Mr. Limbaugh suggested that, despite the criticism the proposal has received from both ends of the political spectrum, Trump’s plan is actually similar to one of the most popular Republican presidents of all time. Yep, Rush points out the similarities between Donald Trump’s tax plan and President Ronald Reagan’s.

There are no details yet. I just heard what he recently said about it. It makes no sense. On the one hand the government will take care of a bunch of people and on the other hand he will allow the free markets to work. I do not think the federal government has any business in the healthcare industry. OK we are stuck with medicare/medicaid. But we need rid of ScotusCare. We need medicare/medicaid to be as limited as possible.

At this point people no longer want freedom except in the area of morality. They want to be as morally corrupt as their dirty minds can dream up. Well, and maybe as drugged as their adolescent foolishness can dream up. Other than those 2 areas, they want to be entirely managed by government, even in the area of speech. They want to be whacked out on heroin while they have sex with whatever they want and they want the government to demand than no one criticize them for it. That is American Utopia 2015. Pretty sad.

I liked him also, and his old great movies.

Somebody here once said that his legend was actually greater than the man.

You are not even remotely persuasive. I gave an honest opinion. I am not alone in that opinion. Maybe you can hate some other people into submission.

“Cruz is the only one I trust!” Oh. Okay. So Cruz votes for the Cornyn’s Bill and TPA. Then he goes out and does the dog & pony show opposing Obama’s Iran agreement, when the yes votes he gave guaranteed power to Obama and gave the money to Iran to pay for more terror attacks.

Do you get this? This is worse than any flip flop or support Trump has done. Cruz supported terrorism. Gave power to a President who had already violated the Constitution.

Trump is who I support. Nothing he has done in the past could cost Americans their lives, like Cruz has done. Votes have consequences, Senator Cruz!

I did not say he proposed a government run system. I said he seems to be saying two opposite things at once. He has few details yet, but what he has said makes me uncomfortable. Falsely accusing me of saying something I did not say does not help explain why you think Trump’s plan is so wonderful.

FReepers need to stop thinking they are persuasive by being rude and pushy.

Well, as I pointed out yesterday to someone else, it’s important to get you’re criticism of Trump in now, in you case, about his health care position.

Because once he issues a position paper on it you’re not going to be able to criticize anymore without looking like a fool.

Art Laffer and Steve Forbes are involved with the plan. So that’s why it has a Reaganesque feel to it.

did “we” have a plan before obamacare?

Yes, actually we had about 50 plans...different public policy in every state, regulated by the states.

Do we NEED the governments “participation” and overlording of everything in our lives?

Well maybe, the 50-state experiments yielded specific results, the best ones had both superior benefits and lowest premiums, the people in the worst states suffered.

The ideal plan would allow consumers to buy across state lines and the competition would cause the liberal state's carriers to fail, and flee to the successful states to set up shop.

Oh, okay...so you’re pulling stuff out of your, er, hat...as far as Trump’s HC plan *would* go. He hasn’t presented his HC plan, yet. Just his policy positions on Immigration, 2nd Amendment Rights and (today) Tax Plan.

What detailed plan(s) has your guy/gal posted?

OK we are stuck with medicare/medicaid. But we need rid of ScotusCare. We need medicare/medicaid to be as limited as possible.

Sounds exactly like what Trump has been saying. I thought you said you “heard what he’d recently said about it” :-/

Trump supports consumers buying private insurance across state lines/competition.

Welcome to a constitutional republic. We get to criticize the government and the candidates. If you cannot take it maybe you should go find a forum titled “Don’t Criticize my Candidate Because it hurts my Feelings” forum.

My criticism was really very light.

I am as entitled to have an opinion on the matter as you are. I just do not choose to be rude about it. It does me no harm to read that you love his plan. I just wonder where the adult hang out — the people who can talk about these issues without acting like children.

No, you go from thread to thread thinking you can have your own set of facts, when it comes to Trump’s policy positions.

You’ve been called out for it, and shown where you were incorrect, and now you’re trying to cry about it? That is what’s “childish”.

I’m still trying to understand the nuances of Trump’s plan/proposal. As matters go I would like anyone who gets an earned income or pension to pay some tax amount for the benefits the Nation has provided eg. roads and military security. No welfare and no hidden income for many persons and no ‘double dipping ‘ from the public monies.

Of course neither one of them actually worked for Reagan although Laffer certainly cultivates the idea.

How many Trump supporters have you turned away from Trump with your cherry picked *facts*?

See how that works? You can’t have it both ways. Don’t play games, by hopping from thread to thread spewing Trump misinformation, and expect not to get called out.
