The amateur dreaming ought to stop concerning Gentle Ben being chosen as a veep by the GOP primary victor.

Political reality in the hard, cold big leagues mandates a veep candidate bringing with him/her three things....a large, dependable bloc-following (hispanics, evangelicals, whatever), big-bucks donors, and a substantial, dependable electoral college vote in the general election (for example, a veep candidate from Texas or California will score more heavily in the selection process than one from Rhode Island).

Gentle Ben flunks in all aspects, so does Fiorina along with most other names being tossed around in the wind as a vice-presidential selection.

My reasoned guess is that Trump would select none of the above and his running mate would be someone we haven't even thought of and whom we would like VERY much.

I’m warming up to him. I’m still backing Trump, because he’s still the only one promising to do something about illegal immigration. Carson’s been a little squishy on that, but Simon is right, Carson is emerging as a soft-spoken but “formidable” character. I’d love for the nomination to come down to a fight between these two very worthy men, who distinguished themselves outside of government.

The bastards in the media tried to create a false controversy over what Carson said. Didn’t work. Carson didn’t back down, but instead referred to his actual words.

Now wise friends of mine still tell me that the former pediatric neurosurgeon cannot be president, even though he has done such pioneering things in the operating room and even though he is arguably the most extraordinary individual to run for president since Lincoln and Washington.

Talk about hyperbole.

For one thing, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that Jeb Bush will be the Republican nominee.

Hope it did not take you this long to figure this out. Jeb was not going to be the nominee the same day he announced he was running.......

He's at least ten to the 14th power better than Jeb!

If Carson is the nominee, I will not vote for him. We don’t need another gun-grabber in the White House.

I sure don't want to push Rubio forward for these reasons

How about Cruz/Carson

the "CC." ... I like it for a logo.

How many people has he (Carson) forged into a team to get things done - big things?

I think putting a team together to perform separating twins joined at the brain would be significant! After all you can't chose them by affirmative action but ONLY on good results in that case. I would trust Carson alot after he learns some things but not on the job training.

And so if Dr. Carson wins...would this make him the FIRST truly African-American to take office

No actually I say that African-Americans are those who come from Africa. The only African-American I know is white EXCEPT the resident in the Rainbow hut. I believe he IS born in Africa so therefor an African-American. LOL
