GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump shared more of his views on foreign policy Friday, telling an audience in Oklahoma his 2016 rivals want to start World War III over Syria and suggesting the U.S. let Russia take up the fight against the Islamic State in the region.
They want to start World War III over Syria. Give me a break, Mr. Trump said at the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, The Hill reported.
You know Russia wants to get ISIS right, Mr. Trump said, using the acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. We want to get ISIS. Russias in Syria. Maybe we should let them do it? Let them do it. What the hell are we, crazy?
Mr. Trumps remarks come as Russia is increasing its military forces in Syria, a move which has alarmed U.S. military and administration officials.

An occupier is an occupier.
Remember Afghanistan, the Soviets were there first. We gave Bin Laden arms and he turns around and commands and implements the 9/11 attack. We should just stay the heck out of there except to bomb from one of our aircraft carriers.
You should be criticizing Obama’s Epic Failures. Obama has been in office almost seven years. You both are stuck on stupid.
We have three stuck on stupid here.
Yet you three have no criticism for the POTUS now leading this country. Obama is responsible for the mess in the Mid East.
Yes the libs do say that a lot. Had I thought of that, I would not have said it. LOL. In this case, though, I find it complicated. That is not my cover for saying other people can’t understand it as well as I can. That means I find it hard to wrap my brain around it. LOL.
Point one: George W. Bush appears to me to be a decent person. He'd make good next door neighbor. But I will not let any admiration for him as a person blind me to his disastrous foreign policy mistakes. To ignore those mistakes is to allow them to be repeated.
Point two: The Iraq war was not won by the end of 2008. Iraq was only at relative peace because US troops kept the lid on everything. That is not a won war. It is a fair argument to criticize Obama for drawing down there. With those troops in place, Iraq could have ended up like a stable South Korea. But I very much doubt that. You are, of course, free to disagree.
Point three: Consider the scorn President Ford received for not supporting South Vietnam. Ford, in essence, let South Vietnam fall. He would not commit any more American blood or treasure. So who botched Vietnam? Was it Ford, or was it LBJ? Obama is in Ford's role here.
I'm always interested in Freeper opinions. But insults serve no value. So if you want to trade insults, I think I'll pass.
Okay, bed wetter, I am not talking about what Obama did that caused the Middle East to go to feces.
I am talking about, letting go of the feces hole that the Middle East is now. I don’t want to waste any more money or American lives there! We have enough resources in US. Simiply, we don’t need them. We just don’t flipping have to. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, etc can grow a pair and clean house. Practice a religion that supports life. Outlaw Islam.
Have you ever thought that the cess pool they live in is the effect of their evil religious teaching that they follow? No? Well consider it. “What you sow, so you reap.”
Let them all go to the fiery place. Sorry if that blows your neo-con brain. Take a Zoloft and whiz off.
I have long thought that the naïve were those who wanted to support unknown terrorist groups against Assad.
****************************************
Like McCain, Graham and Obama. All of the weapons we shipped to them have ended up in the hands of jihadists.
With those signals, suddenly all of the troublemakers in Iraq, to Libya, to North Korea started making noise again.
Not a good comparison with Vietnam. Obama didn't just inherit a poorly run situation. Obama had his own agenda: "Arab Spring"
I agree. The ME is a lost cause. Our only interest should be defending Israel and helping Christian refugees.
We should definitely let Russia and ISIS slug it out. That’s a splendid place to start this party.
Assad didn’t have sharia in Syria, but the rebels and terrorists that we supported are imposing it now. Just like Libya and Iraq.
I have to agree with that.
And I'll also agree that my analogy with Vietnam isn't perfect. But here's the bottom line, with Vietnam or Iraq, or wherever: If you are going to get involved in a major war, you sure as hell had better be in it to win it. Otherwise, don't get involved.
LBJ ignored that, and so did W. I cannot forgive either one, ever.
Regarding the blame game for the Middle East, you cannot leave out Carter. But you could back to at least WWI and WWII.
I agree! I don't want to see our military sent anywhere without the freedom to accomplish a clear goal.
The GOP don’t have no army.
I never understood why so many want to get rid of Assad after the disaster that followed getting rid of Mubarak and Khadafy.
Yup.
We have too many with their heads up their fourth points of contact.
Why is it naive? What we’re doing now is not working. Continuing to do it is just nuts. Russia won’t tolerate ISIS and will destroy them. The official US policy is that Assad needs to go, but we also don’t like ISIS and conduct very limited military action against them. So do we just demolish the entire country?
What about ISIS in northern/central Iraq and the Shi’ite government’s warmth towards Iran which is rapidly going nuclear—also part of our national policy?
Are we getting involved for oil? There’s not that much oil in Iraq. For Saudi Arabia and Kuwait’s oil? We have far more recoverable oil inside our borders than they do.
Are we protecting “freedom”? For whom? These Islamic countries are among the least free countries on Earth regardless of how much money or blood we spend, and, from what I’ve personally seen, the people don’t seem to mind it. Our national policy on that is that “hey, it’s just their culture” (see the child rape in Afghanistan for evidence).
Is it to protect Israel? Our national policy seems to be that we don’t much care for them. Even if we did, we don’t need to go against Russia to protect them.
What exactly is our vital interest in that region?
Let the Russkies get bit in the ass for once.
