Obama wants 1 million Americans learning Chinese by 2020Mr President, why not start with something easier to accomplish and more beneficial at the moment? Why not strive to have 1 million high school graduates in 2016 have the skill to sign their names in cursive and without spelling errors?

Where Esperanto fails as the official language of the One World collectivists, Mandarin will suffice.
Incidentally, I always thought the foresight of a futuristic form of Mandarin Chinese to be in heavy use in the series Firefly, was completely believable, brilliant, in fact.
