Since the heydey of Pope John Paul II's pontificate, there has been a significant phenomenon in the US of politically and/or culturally conservative people converting to Catholicism.
With the current pope's politically liberal rhetoric, will we see fewer of these conversions?
Also, it's interesting that talking about global warming has proved to be a pretty effective way to get the media to stop focusing on pedophile-coverup scandals. You don't suppose that's part of the strategy, do you?
10000%...
never mind the fact he’s too much of a coward to tell his homeland Argentina they should be the first to open their doors before anyone else does...then of course there’s vatican city...
i am a practicing Catholic and was fortunate enough to see John Paul II the first time he came to America in 1979; the new guy is a coward and doesn’t come close to JP II, a great leader by example...crap- even Pope Benedict had the courage to call out islam for what they were doing...not this guy.
Get real, Vatican City is the size of your living room....Italy has accepted too many already and as far as I'm concerned, the U.S. should accept none. The refugees should be cared for and housed where they are and when the skirmish is over, they should be sent home.
Take a couple weeks off. That’s what I did.PS Just a few weeks ago:)
Do you really think that the leaders of Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, even heard, and if they did, give a damn about his opinions?????????No wonder Americans are perceived as naive.
LOL- meanwhile Pope Benedict had no problem calling out the evils being perpetrated by many muslims...keep making excuses for francis; the coward and hypocrite...
yup- so let other nations take them on....keep making excuses for this coward...
Well, that fixed them, they won't do that anymore......!!!!!!
Mexico, the Phillipines, El Salvador, etc. are all examples of Catholic success stories/s. Don’t get me started on Franco’s Spain, Salazar’s Portugual, or De Valera’s Ireland.
RCC was the religion of white trash, now the religion of illegal invaders.

I love this.I met her in New York, was supposed to do an interview but she didn’t feel well.Caught her eye-crystal blue eyes as she was leaving and got down on my knees and held her hand and asked her to pray for me.She nodded yes, took my press pass with my name on it and now she holds it in Heaven.
Well, for 1,600 years (a very long time) it was the religion of all Christians....now it is the religion of ALL complete Christians....the other "denominations" are either incomplete or in error....PERIOD
Thanks for recounting that. May she pray for us.
Amen-She will.
mind as well stick your head in the sand and praise them- oh wait, that’s exactly what he did...
Thanks for the advice. Did it help?
So much,I would log on but just to read freepmail.I was praying with some souls.Did not read pings and log back out right away.Just contact the people that care about you before you do it so they don’t worry and you set the amount of time :)
I’m not sure I have too many friends here to be honest. One or two. I just have been gobsmacked at the hate. It had calmed down for a month or two but this Pope’s visit seemed to spark all the pent-up dislike and distain. Depressing to read Catholics being called “trash.”
Then don’t read it.If you see certain names skip over them and look for the positive ones. Also there are other forums for Catholics where you can enjoy your faith and running commentary.Don’t take anything you read personal. No forum is just the way you like it.Keep in mind this forum excels in conservative politics. It’s the best.Everything else is just flavoring.
