Sometimes people hear what they want to hear.
They were going “Rooooooooooooooo”,
And you want to hear that they were booing Trump.
See post #84.
Trump has never attacked anyone. He only RESPONDS when attacked, first. I think that is a good attribute. I am done with people who apologize and turn other cheek.
I know who I prefer. No contest.
I have never believed him to be this thin-skinned...I think it’s an act.
Regardless, whatever it is, only he knows. Not sure how long he can keep it up because attacks on him will not end anytime soon.
All of these guys have an ego. Dang man, the whole political and governmental scheme is filled with egos. At least Trump is honestly showing it and also kind of saying, “It’s OK for a man to have a big ego” which flies in the face of political correctness as almost any pro-masculine stance does. Those of us who loath and despise PC cheer.
I think that why people like me stick with this guy. He’s genuine, he’s himself, and he sticks up for himself. People want a guy who’s not afraid to stick up for himself and want that same resolve in sticking up for America. The more they pile on, the worse they get and the better Trump gets.
I find myself thinking a about Reagan when saying this. Regan took no sh*t from anyone and he translated that resolve into his determined course despite his own party and the Left.
And I also believe he's the best candidate out there.
The only chance he has is if Trump totally messes up the establishment's game plan and knocks out their chosen candidates, which had their path to victory all laid out before Donald screwed everything up.
And if Trump stays in to the end, I'll have no problem voting for him, if only to stick my thumb in the eye of the RINOs.
I don't understand why this is so hard for some to grasp.
I’d feel more comfortable with these types of insults if Trump would throw a few more of them at the Democrats.
You have to think that anyone who would actually want the job of being POTUS has to be wired a lot differently than most folks.
That's right. Just the mention of Rubio's name in conservative circles is enough to elicit boos.
Ok, you win - your pro-Trump creds are almost as good as mine. But ask yourself one question - if Trump had said “person” instead of “clown” when mentioning Rubio’s name, would the crowd had reacted any differently, considering that they were Trump’s audience?
I’m not sure they were a Trump crowd. There were many speakers there. He could have pointed out Rubio’s record and stance on the gang of 8 without the name calling.
I'd rather stick it to the Democrats. I'll vote for the Republican nominee.
Maybe. But you bring up an interesting point. The political class is a different breed and one I’m not too fond of.
But I think Trump DOESN’T want to do this EXCEPT he loves America and is willing to set aside his life basically to after this. Reagan didn’t really want to go into politics either. He was an actor and comfortable where he was, not unlike Trump. But when the opportunity presented itself to take California out of the hands of the Left, he thought about it for awhile and then, once he decided, he never looked back. I think that’s Trump.
Would you sign a pledge?
Did you actually watch the speech? There is no doubt in my mind that they were booing Trump's comment. By that point in the speech, the most reaction Trump had received was some scattered applause once or twice, and a little laughter on a couple of comments. There was very little audience reaction to him at all until he made the "clown" comment. Even Trump seemed to recognize they were booing him, because he said, "no, c'mon" while they were booing.
I watched Rubio's speech, Cruz'z speech and Trump's speech. The crowd was very quiet for most of Trump's speech. Even when Trump talked about religious liberty, the Iran deal and other topics that should get that crowd excited, he got very few true ovations. It got a little better as the speech went on when he talked about getting the hostages back. There were a couple of Trump supporters who were very noisy, but they were very much in the minority.
