Today, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) took to the Senate floor to advocate for the changing of the name of the street on which the Chinese Embassy stands to Liu Xiaobo Plaza. Currently, the name of the street is International Place.
The move was done quickly, mostly because the President of China is coming to the United States tomorrow. Originally, Democrats had no objection to the move, until Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) stood up to object.

Cruz control!
So what happened? Was the name change approved?
It would have been nice if the article had explained the significance of the name “Liu Xiaobo.”
Just more PC cr**. The President of China was here a week ago.
Cruz explained who he was.
Cruz makes these folks look like mental midgets.
They are mental midgets.
All these baby-killing old hags look evil to me.
Eh? The President of China has been in Seattle for a few days. He arrives in DC later tonight or early tomorrow.
Ted MUST be the next president. He’s in a class by himself.
Agreed!
A street name change? This what he spends his time on?
Well, everyone is talking about it.
It’s a symbol. It’s something that Congress can do to make sure that human rights issues are remembered during the Chinese President’s visit.
Dianne Feinstein has had a grudge against Cruz since the Democrats tried to pass antigun legislation after the Sandy Hook murders.
At that time, Cruz asked her a question about the Bill of Rights. Her response was to fly into a tizzy and babble, “I am not a sixth grader...I have been ‘up close and personal’ with the Constitution.” (?)
In his book, Cruz described how, for months afterward, they had the exact same exchange...Feinstein would greet him with, “Hello, tough guy.”
“Diane, I’m all sunshine and smiles.”
“Is that what your wife tells you?”
I thought the same thing. Not to mention copy/pastable quote.
Many years ago, a friend was working at a major company and said....When the Chinese visit our company, we know they’re here for one reason only....espionage.
That’s great. I wish it would catch on and everyone would greet Dianne with, “Are you all sunshine and smiles.”
It’s fun to watch, isn’t it? She is the mouse to Cruz’s cat, toyed with at his discretion. Unfortunately, the dog, represented by liberals and the brain-dead progeny supplied by public education, will charge in to set things straight.
“...is coming to the United States tomorrow..”
Even Conservative newspapers get caught up in the DC-centric world view point I guess.
“Oh Seattle? Well yeah, I guess that is technically in the United States - but it really isn’t all that important.”
