Donald Trump is in an all-out attack against a surging new rival — and he just fired back

Real-estate developer Donald Trump is now frequently attacking a presidential rival he mostly refrained from criticizing in the past: Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida).

During a Thursday morning CNN interview, Trump hit Rubio as a "kid" in a wide-ranging critique.

He first bashed Rubio's credibility as a foreign-policy wonk when asked to compare their knowledge about Syria.

"Marco Rubio sits behind a desk sometimes and he reads stuff," Trump said, according to CNN's transcript. "That's all he does. I create jobs all day long. I'll know more about all of this than all of them put together and believe me, we'll have a winning strategy. If Marco Rubio is good, how come we're doing so badly?"

Trump went on to dismiss the 44-year-old senator's age.

"These guys don't know how to win," he said. "Marco Rubio, he's like a kid. He shouldn't even be running in this race, as far as I'm concerned. He's a kid."

Later in the interview, Trump again called Rubio a "kid" and criticized him for not deferring his candidacy to Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor.

"He's a kid. He has no right — I mean, frankly, he was very disloyal to Bush," Trump said. "Bush was his mentor. And everyone said he'd never run because Bush was his mentor. Well, the fact that Bush was his mentor didn't stop this young guy who is overly ambitious from wanting to run. Now Bush looks foolish and he looks like he's a very disloyal guy, frankly."

Earlier in the day during a "Morning Joe" interview, Trump also mocked Rubio for perspiring during last week's presidential debate.

Main reason that I do support trump is because I do believe that he does love America.

He may be a conservative, he may not be a conservative, but he’s got children, and I don’t think he wants to leave a smoldering ruin of a country for them. I don’t think he wants to turn their country over to the third world.

I believe that he is sincere when he says he wants to make America great again.

It’s also great that he’s not taking money from large donors, and it is even further great that the GOPE hates his guts, Because I know I hate the GOPE’s guts.

44 was a lot older in TR's age than it is today.

Hell, most of our 30 year olds today are functionally still teenagers.

You can call it feelings, but I call it spiritual discernment coupled with what God gave me - feelings and a conscience.

Since I'm born-again and feel exactly the opposite, who is right? Bye the way I would never use that position in politics or sports to justify my position. It builds yourself up to be some sort of mouthpiece of God, which I will give less credence than I give to your feelings about Trump.

Rubio, along with EVERY other candidate except for one, are FOR SALE. Their positions, votes, nearly everything they do political is determined by who owns them. Trump may be the devil’s bastard but the only entity who pulls on his financial strings is himself.....I’ll take my chances with the self-financed bastard rather than the puppet bastards.

“I strongly suspect that some more specific and more focused questions would trip him up badly.”

When it comes to the middle east and terrorism, I don’t think so

I use my spiritually discernment in EVERYTHING as a Born-agin, Christ-obedient Believer. We disagree.

Since I believe that someone that claims to speak for God has to be right 100% of the time for He/She to be of God, I would never do so. Satan also gives discernment, but it not always correct. If you think Trump is a messenger from God I have to question your discernment. There is noone in this race that I would assign that position.

TR and JFK both served in the military, both had commanded troops in battle (although JFK’s record is somewhat questionable). TR in particular had already served as Governor of NY, gone on hunting safaris, written many books (himself). Not even close.

The answer is simple: Trump fights.

I and many others are able to forgive a great deal, because we have been sold out again and again. The GOP did nothing to stop O’s illegal actions- zero. They are complicit and hope we are too stupid to notice.

We might not know everything about Trump, but we do know that he will fight.

I find myself wishing at times for him to act differently. But then I keep coming back to the fact that nobody else has stood up for us, despite so many opportunities! That is the real shame.

And so many people will now take a chance on Trump- a brash, dirty fighting American brawler who doesn’t take sh*t from anyone. We know he loves this country; we know he will fight. It is crazy I agree, but such are the times we live in that these qualities alone might Trump all others.

“Exactly right. Just what the hell has this twerp done in his life to merit consideration for the Presidency...”

You nailed it right there. What is he known for other than joining up with the CoC and Uniparty cheap labor express?

If you think campaigns are waged with written position papers, you haven’t been paying attention.

Besides, you had to change the subject.

It happens to be exactly the answer for this moment.

There is enormous anger pent up in the American people. Water flows downhill, and people will rally to the person who taps into that anger and promises to fight.

It really is so simple- I was telling my dad about a year ago, that the easy way to win the GOP nomination was to go hardline on immigration. People will be so astonished by the common sense that it would be a cakewalk. Well, nobody would do it- until DT came along.

Nature abhors a vacuum.

Correct on both counts.

Trump certainly doesn’t know amnesty; that is Rubio’s specialty.

“TR and JFK had tons of experience compared to the Rubio lightweight.”

From listening to Rubio, his most profound experience is having immigrant parents, and for that reason, we should all reward him by making him president.
