[UK] Labour’s Vegan Farming Spokesman: Treat Meat Eaters Like Smokers, Meat Like Tobacco

Labour’s vegan farming spokesman believes meat should be treated like tobacco with a public health campaign to stop it being eaten.

Kerry McCarthy MP was recently named the Labour Party’s Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Jeremy Corbyn’s appointment of a vegan farming spokesman was always going to be controversial.

Not only is McCarthy’s 20 year-long vegan lifestyle choice in potential conflict with a large section of Britain’s agricultural economy, she is a Vice President of the League Against Cruel Sports which seeks to ban countryside pursuits favoured by many farming communities.

I think you would find many more people over 100 years old that eat meat their whole life; than you would find people over 60 still alive, that have been vegan their whole life.

Why do I think this, just by observation vegans look so lethargic especially as they grow older, of course there are some exceptions but they are few and far between and I suspect those have not been vegan there entire life.

No, it isn’t. Or was.

If any nation is like reality TV, its you. We imported PC-ism from you.

It has been 20 years since I was in England but smokers were everywhere. Did things change that quickly?

How,exactly, are smokers treated in the U.K.?

Like second class citizens. Just like over here.

So, who's up for finding the cheapest, stinkiest cigar, buying a triple cheeseburger and heading over to this creep's house? :-P

More and more like social pariahs.
Yes, it is and millions still do.

Not including those who smoke ‘other’ cigarettes.

Yes, most British don’t smoke now, most Brits still drink.

MrD is what I call a carboholic, always has been. Now he is a 80 year old diabetic with multiple heart stents and by pass surgery. He has never drank alcohol but he can't give up the carbs.
