The family of the 14-year-old Muslim boy who was led out of school in handcuffs has hired attorneys to get back the homemade clock that administrators mistook for a bomb.
Ahmed Mohamed was suspended after showing his clock to a teacher at his Irving, Texas, high school last week. His case sparked an outcry on social media and attracted the attention of President Obama and a number of tech companies who invited Ahmed to visit.
His family said in a statement Wednesday that it had pulled Ahmed and his two siblings out of the Irving school district "because of religious persecution," and had decided to home-school the kids.

Two Dallas attorneys, Thomas Bowers and Reggie London, have been hired "to pursue Ahmed's legal rights and regain his science project from the Irving Police Department," the statement added.

Yeah - something’s going on that we don’t know about. I don’t think it’s that the family wants to draw attention to the clock: it seems to be much more in their interest to just quietly pick it up and hope the whole thing blows over.
If I had to guess I’d say that they asked the school district to turn it over and were turned down, possibly (hopefully?) because they’re contemplating legal action.
Correction: police department, not school district.
You might have been right the first time....the police department has it and the family asked the school district...that’s why they can’t get it back.
So give him his clock back.
Am I missing something. The sooner I stop hearing about this dope and his “clock” the happier I will be.
Good question. There is ample reason to question Clockmed's family on their business enterprises as outlined briefly here: The following is a repost of a comment on earlier threads:
The deeper you look into Ahmed's Clock background....the shadier it gets.
Some interesting details........

The school day just prior to Ahmed's stunt was Friday, September 11
Coincidentally....a nearby high school in Plano was the subject of a publicized and frightening bomb scare on 9/11/2015.
Ahmed had to have known that his clock would look suspicious.
Listen to this statement from his father:

Clock-boy's dad and uncle appear to run businesses in Irving Texas at an office complex called "TWIN TOWERS"....coincidence?
"Clock" Boy, Ahmed Mohammed's father is Mohammed Elhassan Mohammed. His Uncle is Aldean Mohammed. Do Mohammed Elhassan Mohammed and His Partners Own These Buildings?
According to Mark Steyn, Clock boy's uncle runs a trucking company called "Twin Towers Transportation"
A website called Corporation Wiki provides details about "TWIN TOWERS Transportation Corporation.

Then-Gov Rick Perry signs agreement with the Aga Khan--Muslim leader.
It is a great honor to be in the presence of the Imam of 16 million Muslims around the world, a global humanitarian leader, a man of peace with a pluralistic vision for people around the world, His Highness, the Aga Khan, the 49th Hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.
Your Highness, on behalf of 23 million Texans, and over 600,000 thousand Muslims living in Texas, I extend our heartfelt appreciation for your 50 years of great international leadership."
"We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness work and leadership.
In April 2004, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Univ of Texas-Austin finalized a grant proposal that created the partnership that became known as the Muslim Histories and Cultures Program (MHC).
MHC recruited and directly trained 80 teachers affecting approximately 15,150 students of World History and World Geography in ten key Texas districts in 2005 and 2006.
The purpose is two-fold 1) to fulfill Governor Rick Perrys desire to better educate Texas teachers on Muslim topics and 2) to train teachers to use a cultural lens approach to understanding other cultures.
Governor Perry was instrumental in getting this program off the ground (and was helpful in getting a triumphal mosque built in Texas and placing Sharia Law in the Texas justice system). ####

322ND DISTRICT COURT OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS
EXCERPT On September 25, 2002, all five parties to the divorce signed an Arbitration Agreement. This document recites, in full, that the parties: after consultation with their respective attorneys, agree to submit all claims and disputes among them to arbitration by the TEXAS ISLAMIC COURT (entire opinion at link) (FR Posted on Tuesday, October 04, 2011)
I know people who have submitted their divorce claims to a mediation LLC.
This does not mean that Sharia law is being introduced into Texas. It means that two people are looking to get a divorce and have it mediated by these clowns. I am not sure what woman in her right mind would do that. But that is what it is.
It has nothing to do with Texas law.
Yes, that is undoubtedly true—opting to use the mediation services (which was posted to demonstrate it is an active court). But we have to come to grips w/ the facts at hand...it is, in fact, as its named.........

Lizz, I do not want to sound like I am defending Islamic Sharia Law. I do not.
I AM for the freedom from religion that is stated in the Constitution.
If two people wish to mediate their divorce through a Wiccan, a Satanist, or a Pagan I do not care. That is a civil action not a criminal one.
If you were to show me that an “assault” or “burglary” were being adjudicated through this court I would be much more concerned.
As someone who is the owner of several corporations in my state I can assure you I could name a company that tomorrow.
I know that in the Boston area, a company would by that name would be firebomb in a day.
Does that explanation make sense?
