The Obama Hugger needs to look in the mirror...
More like three mirrors...
General tells him to look in the mirror
it does not appear to have worked.
If Christie wanted to show he is a good sport he would join the general in a 90 day fitness regimen and weight loss program.
pot meet kettle. This is like the donut telling another donut to quit tasting sweet.
This is from the Onion, right?
Fat farting generals are safe, every strip of pervert is celebrated, two males kissing at West Point....meanwhile decorated SF men are discharged for intervening against a child molester.
Our military is a disgrace.
Like Yogi Bear accusing Booboo of stealing pic-a-nic baskets
Christie is a hippocrite.
I very much dislike Christie. But a governor and a soldier do not need the same level of fitness. Furthermore, I can almost guarantee this General has let people in his command be discharged over fitness standards.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
He could be a CPO in the navy.
As the head of the national guard, the national guard having national standards set by the DOD, Christie had no choice. It’s no different than an alcoholic telling his child that the child can’t drive under the influence. The information delivered is absolutely correct, whether the parent is a good example or not.
Being a member of the Air Force...for 28 years...I can tell you the general is obligated by Air Force REGULATIONS (AFI 36-2905) to be in shape. Christie is under no such standards (even though he should be).
Legally the general has no choice but to follow the reg which has a waist limit and mandates how often he should be tested.
What REALLY pisses me off is that if I am late for ONE test I get a reprimand. There are NO putting it offs. If I fail...I get put on a program and if I fail 4 in a row I get discharged.
The HYPOCRISY of this general who has probably signed discharge paperwork because people have not met physical fitness standards is INFURIATING.
It's yet another example (and I've seen it before including a former wing commander of mine) of the leadership not following the same rules I (and they) have to.
It's a double standard.
For those who don't know it, the general in question is require by regulation to meet the Army Height Weight standard just like all of the troops he leads and must weight in every six months along with passing a physical fitness test every 6 months.
Hard to enforce the standard if you don't follow the standard yourself.
Yes, Christie is fat. But there is no weight requirement for governor of New Jersey. There is for the National Guard leader. This guy was dodging the fitness test and was out of compliance with the standard. Christie was enforcing a rule. I’m sure he wasn’t doing it to be a hypocrite.
This article is an attempt by the Washington Post to generate laughs and criticism of a prominent Republican. It worked.
