This article is so inane. Of course in 2009 Barack was an unknown nationally. He got elected by saying all the right things (which only later turned out to be lies, but not a single person of prominence accused Barack of lying in 2009).

Anyone who disparages elected president on the first day of his office is neither smart nor fair nor patriotic.
Trump is smart, fair and patriotic. He was hoping Barack would be the great uniter. So he said the right things about the new president.
The main point here is, by 2012, Trump had realized Barack was an empty suit and said so.
