One of the great contradictions in many Middle Eastern countries is the unequivocal condemnation of homosexuality, which is punishable by death in a number of places, while the practice of sexually abusing young boys is widely accepted.
In Afghanistan, there’s a name for the atrocity — bacha bazi, which means “boy play.”
Even worse, U.S. soldiers and Marines serving in Afghanistan have been ordered not to intervene, according to a bombshell report Sunday from The New York Times. Even when the assaults take place on military bases and U.S. personnel can hear the young boys screaming in pain while being raped.
The Times reported:
KABUL, Afghanistan — In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.
“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”
Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.
That President Obama could possibly condone a policy of don’t look, don’t tell is the height of hypocrisy, given his administration’s so-called stance on human rights and looking out for the oppressed. Not to mention Democrats’ nearly hysterical approach to allegations of sexual abuse in the country’s own military.
Social media users wasted little time expressing their outrage over the report, but Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld may have summed it up best: “No words.”

The cover-up of homosexual rape of young boys in Afghanistan actually started under Bush. My son-in-law was in Afghanistan from 2007-2008, and they had received orders not to say or do anything about this traditional Afghan custom, and that was under Bush. This cover-up has probably been going on since 2001.

I would think the order to not intervene would be an unlawful order and I would NOT follow it.

There was a link in a comments section on a post about this topic last night. It linked to a NPR Frontline expose about this. The commenters at the end generally expressed their disgust. The one word missing from the story and comments was homosexuality. Of course they used the term pedophilia even though the boys mostly had reached puberty.

Eric is correct, but one "chink" in his comment is that muslims are allowed -- indeed, encouraged -- by their so-called "holy book" to practice "taqiya". What is that? Here's Wiki's definition:
"In Shi'a Islam, taqiya (تقیة taqiyyah/taqīyah) is a form of religious dissimulation (LYING), or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts, especially while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution."
“Persecution”? Most of the heads rolling around “over there” once belonged to NON-muslims (or members of the wrong sect). What's missing from this definition is that it is being employed by muslims today to eliminate all non-muslims (kafirs) and ADVANCE THEIR 12 century long GOAL OF WORLD CONQUEST!

But what troubles me more are the comments by Trump and Cruz on the subject. BOTH fail to recognize the true nature of islam. It is NOT a "religion". It is a brutal, misogynistic (there are about a dozen more adjectives I COULD use but I don't want to piss off Face Book's Moroccan based PC police) political, legal and economic system MASQUERADING AS A RELIGION. Don't even get me started on Lindsey “Nancy Boy” Graham!
While it IS possible that both Trump and Cruz are practicing a form of taqiya to placate the millions of PC morons still walking among us to get the job, it does cause concern among those of us who understand that, next to Ebola, marburg, HIV and a number of other diseases, islam is THE greatest threat to Western Civilization since mohammad wandered from Mecca to Medina, there to preach and launch the bellicose WORLD DOMINATION BENT POLITICAL islam we now face!
