Leftist Syriza leads and will be in coalition with the Independent Greeks, the conservative Greeks kicked out of the Republican type New Democracy Party for being anti-EU.
This government has been fighting the austerity measures of the EU (EUSSR) but has been under financial pressure from the banking elites to cave into continued and increasing debt under the 'austerity plan' that give the big bankers a bigger stream of debt payments.
I hear a lot of trashing of Syriza for its left wing position but it and the junior party of conservative Defense Minister Panos Kammenos are fighting against the notion of their country being forced deeper into debt to the bankers, which they have objected to.
The problem with socialism is that you run out of other people’s money.
Yup. And we are fast running out of it here.
And our credit rating agencies tell us we must constantly increase the debt ceiling or lose our credit rating.
If people pay off their credit cards their credit ratings go down, but if they make regular payments and maintain a large debt load ever increased by the financial services companies they have higher credit ratings.
Boehner and McConnell push the debt ceiling increases through Congress to make the banking elites happy and keep us owing to creditors from other places like Muslim countries.
Dave Ramsey is right. Your credit score is nothing but an indicator of how well you kiss a*s to the banks.
From what I read it does not matter because they won’t be able to forge any sort of policy not agreed to by the EU. Basically, this new govt can claim it is anti EU but will have to serve as the tax collector and enforcer for the EU for the foreseeable future.
Nigel Farage of the United Kingdom Independence Party is one of the best political speakers in the world today.
He spoke at CPAC earlier this year warning the Republicans ‘don’t forget the Reagan Democrats’.
I guess Donald Trump must have heard that speech.
Farage also spoke of a corporatist system of government in his country bringing together the big banks, big business and big government.
That’s the problem in this country right now. The big people are squeezing the little people on issues like open borders, religious freedom, Obamacare and if one of those candidates out there can replicate Farage’s message clearly, they have a chance to get my support 100 percent.
I support Cruz right now, but he doesn’t get it the way Farage does or even Trump does, so Ted can’t win at this point.

Syriza won just over 35%, down slightly on its previous result and still short of an overall majority. But it will renew its coalition with the nationalist Independent Greeks. Opposition New Democracy gained 28 percent. Far right Golden Dawn came in third with 7%, slightly up on January's poll.The freeloaders won again, but lost ground.

Well, we have numerous "conservatives" who think letting individuals INSTEAD of government make decisions over their lives is "mob rule" and the most eeeeeeeeeeeeevil system ever devised, so I'm not surprised that “austerity” is a bad thing too. Hell, there's even some conservatives here who think the pledge of alliance is "marxist" and applauded some activist liberal judge for banning it. Nothing surprises me anymore.
This new government which is the old government will be fighting out the issues of higher taxes and spending cuts with the banking elites of the EUSSR in the coming monaths.
The Syriza led government did fight the EU over the notion of increasing the nation’s debt. Syriza opposed the notion of Greece increasing its national debt.
The story of austerity in nation after nation, even our own country, is that of increased debt. Republicans Boehner and McConnell keep rigging the votes to increase the debt ceiling of the USA.
The “Conservative Party” of David Cameron succeeded in doubling the UK national debt in its first four years of rule under ‘austerity’. Wonder what they will do this term?
The “Conservative Party of Canada” led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper also comes up empty on dealing with Canada’s increasing debt and now they face the voters on October 19th.
“Austerity” sees to mean more debt for nations with taxes raised and spending cut so more money can be sent to the banks to service the increasing debt load of nations involved in ‘austerity’ policies.
The credit rating agencies insist that the US and other nations increase their debt load to banks or lose credit ratings.
The relationship of nations to banks seems like that of individuals to credit card companies. Being deep in debt and not paying off bills creates a great credit score.
ITS TIME FOR NATIONS TO BRING THEIR SPENDING UNDER CONTROL WITHOUT INCREASING THEIR NATIONAL DEBTS ACCORDING TO THE DICTATES OF THE BANKING ELITE. I SENSE THAT THE BANKERS AREN’T ALLOWING BALANCED BUDGETS RIGHT NOW.
Economics drive politics more than anything else and the fight over austerity in Greece and the demands of the EU for higher taxes and spending cuts dominate the thinking of average people.
The hordes of people are moving north through Greece with special ferries getting them off the islands as fast as possible.
If those hordes settled down in Greece the anger and support for the Golden Dawn party would rise and the ‘migrants’ would be a much more important issue for Greek voters.
Yeah, it’s odd, but nothin’ new. Oh, and Putin? He’s not an atheist. And he’s also anti-communist. Same folks.
