The Obama administration will increase the number of refugees allowed into the United States annually to 100,000 in 2017, The New York Times reports.
The current limit is 70,000, and that would go up to 85,000 in fiscal 2016, then to 100,000 annually in 2017, Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday during meetings in Berlin.
Kerry also said he would be looking into ways to expand the number beyond 100,000 in later years while still maintaining the background check process. This step is in keeping with Americas best tradition as a land of second chances and a beacon of hope," Kerry said. "And it will be accompanied by continued financial contributions to the humanitarian effort not only from the U.S. government, but from the American people. The need is enormous, but we are determined to answer the call."
Syrians fleeing their war-torn country would benefit from the move, the Times noted, though a Reuters/Ipsos poll released last week showed that most Americans don't want to take in more Syrian refugees, though they do want to do more to help them.
One of the fears is that terrorists from the Islamic State (ISIS) or other groups could infiltrate legitimate refugees and attack the country in the homeland. Kerry insisted the review process will be streamlined to avoid that.

My question is this: Shouldn't we have some type of requirement of each and every one that they demonstrate ability to improve our country?
You shall know them by their fruits.
Yes, we should
No more. NO MORE

Based upon past performance, congress is probably getting secret back room payoffs to help this happen. We have no representation and America knows it. Hence, the present election looks elsewhere to save America.
And this is why we have a virtual media blackout of the disaster in Europe.
The media doesn’t want us to see images of “immigrants” trashing the streets, rioting, being unruly, acting like ingrates, chanting “allah akhbar” and such.
100,000 is probably more like a 1 Million.
Never believe anything from this administration.
Think anyone in the media will ask if they will be made citizens and given voting rights in time for November?

Here is the perfect Boston neighborhood for resettlement. Many large homes that can take in extended families. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeV0gOwBMZ0
Close. They pull the sympathy strings on the public and then Congress gets away with appropriating $20 billion on the program, a huge chuck of which just gets funneled through to their super PACs for reelection...
That was predictable. The initial number was 10,000 minimum, and that is what was reported, and will be repeated endlessly.
