As the week ended, Obama’s palace guard in the American media were demanding that every other Republican candidate distance himself from Donald Trump’s failure to correct, among thousands of attendees at his events, one who apparently is under the illusion that the President is a Muslim.

Any candidate who plays this game with the Obamamedia is a fool. Assuming for the sake of argument that the questioner is genuine and not a plant (like, say, the 14-year old all-American schoolboy clockmaker who didn’t make a clock at all and is the son of a belligerent Muslim activist and perennial Sudanese presidential candidate whose brother runs a trucking company amusingly called Twin Towers Transportation), putting all of that to one side, there are several entirely reasonable responses one could make to the gentlemen of the press:

The job of a news organization is to gather, put together a story and then report that story so people can understand and digest what is happening in the world. They are not supposed to comment or tell people what to think on that story with their own personal bias and are required to leave their bias out. This is the most critical part of reporting since this is where people build trust in the organization to report fairly and without their own bias and why so many networks have failed miserably both ethically and financially.

That is why they are allegedly "the media"...(in the middle) And exactly why I always refer to them as such, in quotes. Because they are nothing but a bunch of RATagandists.

Welcome to the wonderful world of journalism that I have worked at least part time and at times full time since 1972. Ive seen a lot and what FNC did and is doing is all very explainable.The problem is we expect more and seldom get it.
It pays to have a gold standard.Someone we can point to and say there is Sharyl Atkisson! Why can't you fools emulate her.Why can't she be the standard instead of Meghan Kelly who spends more time on which black dress she will wear rather than doing a little research which she obviously allows her staff to do and they do it poorly. Any anchor who cant tell a real birth certificate from a phony one or worse yet is not even up on the scandal does not deserve a big audience.
As for Britt Hume he's been at it too long and his take has less value every year.Truth is Hume has never been the same since the untimely death of his son. Tragedies such as this effect us all differently.In Britt's case and this is just a wild opinion, he became a bitter old guy with little to live for.
As for the brain trust Charles Krauthammer he can't or won't adjust to the imperfect. Trump is anything but perfect but the people have and are speaking.
They are sick and tired of those who would sell out the nation for a few more pieces of gold such as what is going on with Iran.

Well, his father and step-father were both Muslims, which means, as far as Islam is concerned, he was born a Muslim. Has he renounced it? My fellow candidate Ted Cruz entered this world in Calgary, Alberta in 1970, which means that he was born a British subject and a citizen of Canada. Every single one of them is dead or fled. So, instead of jumping through your preposterous hoops and speaking up for the most powerful man in the world, I would rather speak up for the powerless - for the Nigerian schoolgirls, for the Yazidi, for the Copts in Egypt, and for all the other beleaguered Christian communities in the world this feckless president has set alight and watched burn.

I believe that Obama is a CINO (Christian in name only), and, at the very least, a Muslim sympathizer that frequently attended an anti-white church in Chicago. I have always felt that much of his childhood and post adolescent years have been purposely misrepresented. I have absolutely no problem with the way that Trump handled the notorious question this past week.

You do know that Wright was a Black Muslim minister before he became a “Christian” pastor. He taught a version of Black Liberation Theology which is Islamic Marxism. Perhaps the President can clear all this up.

I don’t watch Fox much any more either. They are so anti Trump and it’s not fair and balanced at all.

They are pushing Carly and now I don’t care for her. It’s like when Gov Christie walked arm in arm with obama. Just such a turnoff! Every one the media likes, I won’t.

Gutfeld was making fun of Trump. They must not realize when they make fun of someone, they also are making fun of the supporters. Wallace has always been a "reporter" just like his father which means he is just another media slug with a personal agenda to turn Liberal bullshiite into ice cream. Megan Kelly has become a caricature of her old self but with a whole lot of added ego, snark, and bitchiness. She is no longer pleasant to watch. She is like watching a gold-digger wife and her divorce lawyer working to get your house and assets. We can't watch her any more and we used to tune her in about every night.

You are right about FOX killing themselves. They put the haiku knife in themselves that debate night. But rather than their intestines spilling out quickly the wound will just fester until their sepsis makes them just like the other news corpses over at SEEBSMSNDNC.

It is a shame but no doubt a conscious decision by management. They have destroyed years of growth and viewer trust just so they could become propaganda clowns like the rest of the corrupt American media. Their downfall began when they started hiring "reporters" like Whorealdo from the Liberal stations. Then they decided to give the Democrats "equal" time and turned their programming into frustrating cage fights where Liberals shout down the conservative guests who actually have something interesting to say but nowhere else to say it.

FAUX has taken bimbo eruptions down to a new level.

I think it was a segment solely designed to allow her to air her answers to the allegations, and neutralize them in the press.

Sunday morning chit-chat show on C-SPAN; the subject is poverty in America. A caller claims his total income is less than $10,000, then goes on to his complaint. Then both guests on the segment comment on the caller's comment.

But neither guest, nor Steve the Moderator, question how a guy with an income of less than $10,000 can afford cable TV so he can watch C-SPAN in the first place. Let alone a phone.

Once again, I have failed to suspend my disbelief system before turning on the TV...

Bray - Great column as always. The reason we must take Fox to task is they were the last TV hope for maybe “fairness and balance” even through they are accused by balance of media of being right wing whores. We have long since given up all hope for other media. Fox is the last sellout. We even see clown Glenn Beck and his simpering giggling buddies dishing constant hate on Trump, and even on their former “friend” Sarah Palin for simply standing by her man.

I hope it inspires us to work harder.
