Sunday morning chit-chat show on C-SPAN; the subject is poverty in America. A caller claims his total income is less than $10,000, then goes on to his complaint. Then both guests on the segment comment on the caller's comment.
But neither guest, nor Steve the Moderator, question how a guy with an income of less than $10,000 can afford cable TV so he can watch C-SPAN in the first place. Let alone a phone.
Once again, I have failed to suspend my disbelief system before turning on the TV...

There was a brilliant black guy on Kudlow,cant recall his name of course, yesterday who went in-depth on just what a farse the phrase low income has come to mean.
He went on to say it means having cable, a car, some two, a/c and on and on and on.
We live in a pc alternate universe where words and meaning have all been perverted.
