Washington (CNN)—Donald Trump on Saturday said it is not his job to correct supporters' claims about the President, defending his decision not to take issue with a man who disparaged Muslims and said President Barack Obama is not an American.
But Trump did not dispute the man's allegations made at a town hall event this week, and added that if someone criticized him to Obama, there would be "no chance" the President would come to his defense.

Trump's got a point.
CNN set this up to generate the controversy.
I couldn’t defend Obama if someone called him a muzlim.
- Hussein Obama moved the prayer breakfast away from the White House. They now celebrate Ramadan at the White House twice per year.
- The Obama’s celebrate Ramadan more per year than they go to church.
- Obama defends muslim far more often than he does Christianity.
- His first action in the Ill. state senate was a bill to celebrate muslim day.
- His former church certainly wasn’t what I would call a Christian church. The pastor’s master’s degree was in Islamic studies.
- Obama’s own words “nothing more beautiful than the muslim call to prayer.” He’s even said he’s a muslim.
I could go on and on but I couldn’t defend Obama as being a Christian. Instead of just taking him at his word, I am judging from his fruits.
Trump is hitting back, hard! This coordinated attack isn’t having the effect *they* (RNC/Rove/Establishment) were hoping for.
I like the way he stands up for himself. That might not qualify him to be President in and of itself, but it’s admirable and worthy of emulation by our side. The other side certainly hasn’t got a problem with it.
The media wanted him to answer like john McCain would have. John would have been quick to defend the muzzie president.
Heaven knows he's got enough of those.
I get a kick out of Trump's braggadocio which has a certain guilelessness about it. I think Trump is a good guy.
Looks like the gopE has a terminal case of “ostrichitis”. Except they don’t have their heads in the sand. If ya know what I mean.
I don’t quite understand this at all. We are all supposed to be understanding and accepting of the muslims but when someone calls someone a muslim they are acting like it is being called a cuss word. If you are a muslim then be proud of it if there is nothing to be ashamed of. I don’t think any apology under any circumstance is necessary.
If the Current Occupant would simply release the information relating to his college applications and the transcripts of grades from those institutions, a lot of this would be resolved immediately.
1. The Current Occupant perhaps is not nearly a smart as many people have made him out to be.
2. The application forms - was any nationality other than “US Citizen” used, or was a foreign nationality used in order to fill some affirmative-action or eligibility wavier?
3. Who paid his tuition to attend these admittedly VERY expensive institutions of higher learning? And what, exactly, was his major field of study? Is it a VALID degree relating to anything in the real world?
