According to a new CNN poll, almost one third of Americans now believe President Barack Obama is a Muslim.
The poll found 39% of respondents thought Obama Protestant/Christian, 29% thought him a Muslim, 11% believed him to be non-religious, 4% thought him a Catholic, 2% thought him a Mormon, 1% thought him Jewish, 1% believed him something else, and 14% had no opinion.
College graduates appeared to be the group most inclined to believe Obamas protestations that he is a Christian; 63% took Obama at his word. Only 28% of those without a college degree believed Obama to be telling the truth about his faith. Predictably, 61% of Democrats believed Obama, compared to 32% of independents and a paltry 28% of Republicans.

Don’t forget the slip of his tongue where he said, “my Muslim faith”.
What you wrote is worth repeating because it is true.
If it identifies with muzzy issues, talks like a muzzy and has a muzzy heritage, they surely you are a racist bigot to think he is not a christian.
I think they are all wrong. I don’t think there’s any room in Barack Obama’s head for anything except the enormous importance of Barack Obama. Certainly no room for a god that is more important than Barack Obama.
And these telling revelations:
FALSANI: Who’s Jesus to you?
(He laughs nervously)
OBAMA: Right.
Jesus is an historical figure for me, and he’s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher.
And he’s also a wonderful teacher. I think it’s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.
AND
FALSANI: What do you believe?
OBAMA: I am a Christian.
So, I have a deep faith. So I draw from the Christian faith.
On the other hand, I was born in Hawaii where obviously there are a lot of Eastern influences.
I lived in Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world, between the ages of six and 10.
My father was from Kenya, and although he was probably most accurately labeled an agnostic, his father was Muslim.
And I’d say, probably, intellectually I’ve drawn as much from Judaism as any other faith.
So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there’s an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived.
And so, part of my project in life was probably to spend the first 40 years of my life figuring out what I did believe - I’m 42 now - and it’s not that I had it all completely worked out, but I’m spending a lot of time now trying to apply what I believe and trying to live up to those values.
Interesting that only 39% of Americans believe that which the establishment has declared that one MUST believe...
Well Sammy Davis Jr was Jewish.......;-)
Inarguable. Perhaps it would be different for someone who converted later in life, but as far as anyone who was brought up in one religion...or no religion and then one religion (as in the case of 0bama) no bloody way they get that answer wrong. Never mind that how much foreign exposure 0bama had with however many years in Indonesia 0bama went through. That happened at a very formative stage in his life. It is very obviously a fundamental thing for him. “Intrinsic”, the word you used, is precisely correct.
In other news:
39% Are either morons or don’t know what the word Christian means...
You know, this thing could become very over-analysed, but now I’m wondering if it was accidental in the first place. He could have easily have said it on purpose, as a dog whistle (the left is big on dog whistles, they are always projecting them onto conservative speech) to Muslims, that he is one of them (which aligns with many other things he’s said, such as standing with them should the winds blow against them, etc), knowing that Stephanopoulos would correct him, and the media would cover for him, and his fellow Muslims would understand the whole process under the principle of taqqiyah.

College. Ha! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again!
IMO you are waaay overthinking it. He ain’t that smart and he certainly wasn’t as diabolically savvy at the time as he may be now. His body language in that i’view was humble, modest, self-effacing, if you can imagine such a thing. He had no concept then of how much he would able to get away with, this many years later of pathetic, full-out GOP surrender. Frankly, I don’t think the left et al had any sort of idea how far they would be able to go.
I dont think he is a Muslim either, I think he is an Athiest, so put me in the 11%. Does he sympathize with Muslims, could you harbor doubts or ideas that he is muslim?? What do his actions prove? I can’t blame the 29%.....
“I believe that there are many paths to the same place”
John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
