In both debates Ted Cruz seemed to be shutout. For a candidate polling in the middle of the pack he got limited time, often less than the bottom feeders. I want my president to be assertive and fault Cruz for not jumping in. Cruz is my #1 yet gave him negative marks due to the above.
Yes, and if Cruz had tried it, since we all know that they were trying to stifle him, he would have received an admonishment that would have signaled to the low information voters that he is a bombastic and interruptive candidate, which would feed into the image that has been crafted for him by the media.
“Why are Bush and Fiorina getting so much blah blah time? Thats the big question.”
You already know, it’s because they are going after Trump, and if the media could choose the GOP candidate well....
I ain’t no boy little man
I know you were being flip in your 'too white' remark but after some thought...that may be exactly it. Blacks often make fun of white people for being stiff and such, maybe that IS it?
I think you are correct, Cruz is waiting for a real debate, not this wierd beauty contest with too many dogs in the hunt.
Oh. So you're a chick. Sorry honey, my mistake.
Your reference to the last two presidential elections makes my point to you being ‘new to politics’
I stand on my assessment of you little man.
Jay -
The ‘too white’ comment was both flip and serious.
Sometimes we simply need a break.
Yeah, all (except Trump) are working very hard to appear presidential. Seems to be a ‘thing.’
Some really need to work at it and for some, it is a natural thing (Cruz, IMHO is a natural, he is not fake).
But. . .what can you do except—as Lindsey said—’drink more’
“My impression is that Cruz is playing a long game. He is content to raise money and travel the country beating the ground to gain grass root support. I think he is waiting for the herd to thin out and trying to build enough support to advance with the final group. Once the herd is thinned, I would look for him to start firing a bit more.”
I think your impression is correct. He would look like a whiner if he complained about the obvious limits of his time. His name is rarely spoken on Fox. He understands the timeline of the election. He shows his class, his knowledge and his obvious huge IQ. When the pack thins, he will be near the top like great runners who bide their time and sprint at the end.
I want Cruz to win. He doesn’t seem to be picking up more supporters and I just want to figure out why. The biggest complaint I get is his delivery. He was even compared to Perry and at that I almost came unhinged.
Well .. I just love it when people say Cruz is their #1, and then bash him to pieces.
Ted did just fine .. the rest of children were just busy name calling .. and giving Carly the floor so she could bash somebody ..??
The fact that JEB met privately with CNN and FOX prior to the debate day, bothers me more than anything Ted might have done or not done.
Exactly.
This TV show will be long forgotten by the time the primaries begin.
Lawyers spend their lives giving speeches. That might be a clue.
However, Ted was the leading speaker on his college Debate teams .. both Princeton and Harvard.
And .. Ted is a Constitutional Scholar - who Dershowitz (his Professor) called the most brilliant he had ever taught.
I think those qualities are more important. Maybe you should let your family know that.
Agree with your assessment. Every week or so there's a small announcement that so and so has been appointed his coordinator in South Carolina or Virginia etc. He's building his national organization for the primaries. He has the cash and the organizational ability. See Cruz's US senate race for the prototype.
I realize this and I know all those points on Cruz. I can try to sway and point this out but it helps little. Looking at all the polls around, Cruz isn’t moving up much. Something isn’t connecting for people, I suppose we could just declare it’s because everybody is too stupid to know better but that doesn’t gain any ground. I want Cruz to win, I want to vote for him but at this rate, I won’t get the opportunity.
Ted is marking time...he has plenty of money and is waiting for the crowd to thin. He’s not going after Donald Trump so he will be largely ignored until the numbers go down!!!
With you on that.
Napscoordinator is troll- Always posts misleading and outright BS on Cruz threads.
I agree with you. The masses want a political brawler, not a wall flower. Being passive won’t cut it anywhere.
