I should say rather he lacks political polish, but shows raw political talent.

I find I have to listen to the complete sentence from Trump in it's complete context. Very often he'll add a quick aside at the end that is often more important than say the controversial first response.

For instance, when revisiting his foreign affairs gaff he bobs and weaves with irrelevancy, but then finishes with a quick [paraphrased] "I'll hire people to tell me" -- which to me is the most correct answer.
