For many conservatives, there is starting to be a common view that Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are the top choices. Jeb Bush is too salsa, Scott Walker is too Elmer Fudd, and Ben Carson's amnesty-loving ways are anathema. What does that leave us with?
On immigration, based on the current, stated positions of the candidates, Donald Trump is by far the best candidate. He's the only candidate talking about deportation. Most recently he said it could be done in 1.5-2 years, which is not the typical "beyond the horizon" 10 years most candidates give in answer to any problem. He wants to eliminate birthright citizenship. And he wants to build a wall...

Oh, and the Trumponic Plague suffered quite a bit in the CNN debate. Even El Jebbe looked more acceptable than usual.
“See, what Jindal is referencing is that the mayors (and other officials) of “sanctuary cities) are willing co-conspirators in violations of federal law on immigration”
Point me THE LAW which provides for JAILING of mayors that create Sanctuary Cities.
If you cannot site a section of US law, then it proves that I’m right, and other politicians are (finally) coming around to realize that it’s time for a bit more than “business as usual” when dealing with Democrats.
Trump did fine, Carson was the BIG LOSER...and Carson was the one nipping at his cuff. Now Carla and Carson get to split the 24% of the vote that is anti-Trump, while Trump stays at 30% plus, still a runaway. Trump can still blow it with tweets, but so far he did what he needed to do, which was to get Carson off his heels and not lose ground.
As to arresting those mayors as "co-conspirators," there are crimes known as inchoate crimes in which the defendant has not committed the underlying crime (i.e. illegally entering or remaining in the country which is done by the non-citizen) but has knowingly acted in such a way as to encourage and facilitate the underlying crime of another. This is commonly referenced as "conspiracy." The concept of inchoate crime is rooted in the common law and sometimes is codified in statutes, depending on the jurisdiction.
You can, in this internet age, do your own rough research. Start with the Wikipedia entry for "inchoate crime." Also check out the RICO (Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization) statute and decide whether such mayors and officials of "sanctuary cities" have used the US Mail or wire transmissions (including telephone calls) on at least two occasions (a pattern of corrupt behavior) to facilitate the fraud or extortion of the aliens. Or you can remain defiant in the descending darkness encouraged by your false god. Your choice!
I know. I know. That Trump will sure teach them MJexicans and them liberals a lesson. Nothing else (including civilization itself) matters. Right? And besides, he talks dirty and he's rude. He has all the earmarks of one who would lead a very belated revival of the old Know Nothing Party. He don't put up with none of that due process red tape either. What is human liberty compared to your desperate need for emotional satisfaction after being so long ignored?
West Nile Virus and Ebola recur now only in small samples. Trumponic Plague will subside as well. Soon enough to save the republic? Time will tell.
“I am long retired from the practice of law, did not retain a law library and do not subscribe to WestLaw or similar services.”
Since you were a lawyer, I would assume that you wouldn’t SHOOT OFF YOUR MOUTH without backup...but then you were a lawyer, so I guess I misjudged your integrity.
“If you happen to be right, I hope that when your mindless TRUMPNATION dictatorship arrives, you will have a good time before you are hauled off to a concentration camp.”
Concentration camp, spare us your PARANOIA. The last time that we had a president take control, only Japanese (rightly) ended up in camps, and they were far from what most people consider to be “concentration camps” and once the emergency was over, the country immediately returned back to normal. I don’t live cowering in fear of my government.
At the time, it seemed obvious that such German-Americans as Eisenhower and millions of others were thoroughly loyal Americans. FDR approached Lucky Luciano through Tom Dewey to get Mafia assistance in shutting down the flow of dangerous information from the East Coast docks. Luciano complied, was released from Attica and sent to an island off Italy as his personal prison. There were also millions of obviously loyal Italian-Americans.
Unfairly, the Japanese (the Nisei) were not as much trusted. All groups have their miscreants but the Japanese-Americans were generally exemplary citizens before and after the war. I did not care for the politics of the late Senator Daniel Inouye but no one can deny his heroism in Italy with the Rainbow Division of the US Army during the war in which he lost an arm assaulting a mountain peak to save some Congressman's son and about 100 others. More men died among the rescuers than the number they were sent to save.
Today, courtesy of the efforts of Douglas MacArthur, Japan is again a free country and a strong ally of the US ever since the end of the postwar occupation.
Paranoia? As my wife wisely observes, even paranoids have real enemies.
As to integrity, I hope mine is intact. I know that I am not infallible, however. If it turns out that you are right on Trump and that I am wrong, I will step right up, admit it and celebrate the fact. At the moment, I am not convinced that The Donald will be nominated or elected, much less prove that he has earned your confidence. Time will tell.
