Rick Warren, senior pastor of Saddleback Church, has announced he will be speaking in Philadelphia later this month at the World Meeting of Families event to commence Pope Francis’ highly anticipated visit to the United States.

Rick Warren announced his plans to attend the event during the Sunday morning worship service at the Lake Forest, CA church. “Next month, Pope Francis is coming to America for a world gathering on families,” he told the congregation. “I’m not a Catholic, and we have many differences with Catholics. But they love the Lord and we have much in common with that – we believe in the Bible, and the Trinity, and in Jesus and the resurrection.”
“There are probably going to be a million people in Philadelphia at this final event with Pope Francis, and he’s asked me to be the final speaker,” the Purpose Driven Life author continued amid cheering and applause. According to its website, the World Meeting of Families is a “week-long international event of prayer, catechesis, and celebration that draws participants from around the globe.” The 8th annual event, which organizers say will be attended by up to two million people, seeks to “strengthen the bonds between families and to witness the crucial importance of marriage and the family to all society...”

The message had a good basic call to salvation using one of the last seven words of Jesus as a text. The numerous fault-finders here will be sorry to hear that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
The building was nice, but not extravagant, and was kind of like a warehouse with floor-to-ceiling windows on 2 sides.
We were disappointed that they ran out of Bibles that first-time visitors are supposed to receive. Not because we need one, but because it shows their internal systems aren't functioning, someone dropped the ball, or they don't value the Word of God appropriately.
We were glad we went and would gladly do so again should the opportunity arise.
We certainly wouldn’t want to dissuade you from following the course in life you want to travel. However, were you also against homosexual marriage before you were for it? Do you also believe that end times prophesy is just a “distraction”? Do you believe that this Pope is “our Pope” and a “Man of God”? What do you think about repentance as a precursor to what you call the “good basic call to salvation”?
Francis the Betrayer will address congress on a “New World Economy”. Is that anything like a One World Government.
Rick Warren, Joel Osteen and all the others made it about themselves and not about God. The are selling a “Sham Wow” religion that isn’t Christianity.
