Three giant Russian Condor transport aircraft have flown into the Assad International Airport near Latakia, Syria, over the past few days. They have unloaded large containers but it's not known yet what's in the containers, reports CBS News correspondent David Martin.

I cant understand how Assad is the focus of the administration, and that isis is a trivial back burner ‘barely there” operation.
As I said about Iraq, in Syria before I could have visited roman ruins, old Christian monasteries, etc. Now I would get beheaded. And the USA is facing down the Assad, not the ones who make it impossible. Insane and I don’t support it no matter what names someone calls me.

I see a huge potential for the situation to spiral out of control. The present refugee crisis is planned and fake. But imagine radioactive dust clouds and our present, weak, Muslim president. It is the ideal crisis and we know they never can be allowed to go to waste.
We’d never have had this situation or ISIS without Obama. Imagine just how much worse he can make it before January twentieth 2017.
And Obama hates anyone that goes against his ISIS allies and creates stability in the region.

The effects of fallout over the distances involved are (deliberately) exaggerated. The only folks I’d be worried about the are the Israelis, ‘cause they’re right there.
But I am sure that our Glorious Leader would do everything in his power to make things worse. Never let a crisis go to waste and all that.
However, in the past, the Russians have actually been pretty careful about what they hand off to the “monkeys” (from what I can tell, the Russians don’t have a very high opinion of their clients...). I doubt they will actually provide chemical weapons, much less nukes, to the Syrians. Matter of fact, the GERMANS are more complicit in providing the ME with the means to make chemical weapons that the Russians are.
American influence and credibility are pretty much shattered for the foreseeable future thanks to Obama and his enablers. The best we can hope for is that some other powers will step in clean things up (for a suitable slice of the action, of course). I am hoping that this is what is happening.

Let us remember that before Putin, the Soviets were backers and suppliers of Asad’s father and have long used the port that is in the news as their Mediterranean Sea supply base. thus to be ‘surprised’ at Putin supporting Asad, is showing an ignorance of Cold War history.

Putin is more a faithful ally than Obama is. Now that’s a fucking disgrace for and to America.
Russia has sold much of Iran’s nuclear technology to them and most of Iran’s weapons systems are of either Russian or Chinese origin. If Russia, like the rest of the world, knows Iran intends to destroy Israel with nuclear weapons as soon as they are capable, why are they assisting Iran toward their goal? It is almost as if Russia wants a nuclear conflagration to take place in the Mid East, so why would that be, and how would Russia gain from such a catastrophe?
Russia just might think if Israel is attacked by Iran with multiple nuclear strikes, both the U.S. and Israel will respond by completely destroying Iran with nuclear weapons. That many nuclear strikes in the region could contaminate the Mid East with enough radiation to destroy much of the region’s population and prevent oil from being exported from the region for many years to come. There would be no more cheap Mid East oil, and western economies would collapse overnight.
If Mid Eastern oil is no longer available, who has the next largest developed oil reserve, and without competition from the Mid East could set the price and the world would have to pay it? I’ll answer that question; it’s Russia. The Russians learned the lesson of capitalism too well from us, and with our help, they are just eliminating their competition.
So, it is all about cheap Mid East oil after all, now isn’t it?
Yes, the Soviets supported Asad’s father, and they are supporting Asad. Note also that Russia is sending a nuclear missile launching sub to Syria. It carries 20 SLBMs with up to 10 warheads each. I wonder what they are targeted against.
