It seems that her lawyers chose as a legal path one that would have the most likelihood of prevailing. DOH!
Cordially,
“No, these are two separate issues.
In 1967, the feds were actually VALIDLY enforcing the 14A which forbids state segregation laws.
Here, the feds have NO constitutional authority whatsoever to interfere with state marriage laws or to meddle with marriage in any way.

Thank you for this reminder. I am shocked that I failed to see the distinction between the Constitutional Ammendment process and the dictate by decree that we have today. I almost failed to see that distinction....
I see.
Well, he can be upset elsewhere then.
Lol.
Just heard on FNC that Cruz and Huck were meeting with her now and it is possible she will make a statement when she exits the building.
There’s also the small matter of the phrase “according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. At this time, they haven’t been changed.
Kim Davis, until impeachment or removal procedures have been carried out, is still the County Clerk. Licenses issued without her approval are void.
This is going to take a lot more working out than simply throwing dissenters in jail or marking out signatures. There’s going to have to be a legal change in the requirements for elected officials. No Christians. There’s going to have to be a change in the requirements for running any kind of business. No Christians. And the Supreme Court is going to have to go back and redefine what marriage is or isn’t without Christian input. I’m not going to hold my breath for all that to get sorted out. I’m just waiting for them to start pulling this garbage on Muslims. I’m not holding my breath for that either.
I’m still waiting too, to hear about all those glorious gay weddings that are supposed to be taking place after receiving these bogus certificates. Nothing so far. I’ve no doubt that they will soon surface at the door of some Christian Church, crying foul because the pastor refuses to marry them in front of a Holy Altar, even though there are plenty of pastors who will.
So she will go back to jail for not paying fines. Christians will support her, political candidates will support her and her name will stay in the news. If she went jail to avoid issuing marriage licenses in opposition to her beliefs; she probably won’t hesitate to go back for not paying fines. I hope she stays strong.
YES SIR...they're running scared now !!!How big of a settlement will she get ? !
I hope the real precedent set is that of judges sending elected officials to jail, Hillary. (I know, I know, wishful thinking).
So true, this is how it was playing out on a local TV station's comment section on the story of her being jailed.
The whole left establishment was being called Nazi's and fascists over the deal. The libtards started sceaming Godwin's Law but the real comparisons pretty much trumped Godwin's Law. That's probably what the liberal establishment's powers-that-be was deathly afraid of. That Americans might actually see the true face of today's liberal/progressive movement which is nothing but evil, just like their brethrens, the fascist Nazis.
CGato
He might want to try a wand, his gavel brought down a firestorm.
Judge Bunning, upset that his marriage license to his boyfriend was denied.
That must be why he once ordered high school students to undergo compulsory homosexual indoctrination via propaganda denouncing Christian views that opposed homosexuality as wrongheaded and proclaiming homosexuality as a safe, healthy, and fixed lifestyle that cannot be changed (a ruling that was overturned on appeal) and who apparently has sided with arguments for partial-birth abortion. </sarcasm>
I hope she stays strong.

Me too.
In a county of 23K, how often does the request for a same sex marriage license arise? The fact that the backlog has now been filled probably means that it will be months before another request is filed.
Are they agreeing to sign with or without being bonded?
If they aren't bonded they may have considerable personal liability is this world.
right on and I am stealing your post
Huckabee had planned to visit Mrs. Davis today, and probably still will.
I see Ted Cruz but he is not with the Huckster and Kim. Perhaps it is true, that Kim did not want Ted Cruz around.
the appellate court has jurisdiction of this but the lower court judge is still doing whatever he wants?
