Washington (CNN)Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Friday that he wished a Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis, was not jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, but he added that the Supreme Court has ruled and it is "the law of the land."

He always sounded like one, but no one cared as long as he was attacking the people we hate.
Ben Carson will care apparently for in the last three national polls (Real Clear Politics) Carson has been second to Trump and in each of the 2nd and 1st of those National polls Carson gained three points on Trump in relationship to the preceding poll.
So was prohibition.
The Constitution gives no absolute authority to the Supreme Court to make decisions that ignores, violates, or attempts to rewrite from the bench, the Constitution. The Constitution trumps the Supreme Court.
So, then, what IS the law of the land?
ONLY those laws made in pursuance of the Constitution, ie. constitutional law or decisions, are the Supreme law of the land (U.S. Constitution: Art VI, CL2 - the Supremacy Clause). Unconstitutional federal law or decisions or acts are NOT the law of the land, but is an invalid law that should be rejected and nullified.
What does he propose to do about it in the near term?
Im sure Trump didnt know this option, when he supported the rule of law.
This is such a deliberate made up red-herring by the Marxists. If those two fudge packers wanted a license all they would have to have done is drive 20 miles in any direction to another court house and they would have gotten one. This was another 'gotcha' by the Marxists to further the destruction of our national identity. It will not ease up or cease til they are removed from our society with or without prejudice, as the saying goes.
"Davis, the clerk of Rowan County, was jailed Thursday after refusing to allow her five deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples."
She is also preventing other Deputy Clerks in the office from issuing the licenses.
Seems like a foolish fight to me.
It is interesting that after one night in jail, she suddenly came up with this accommodation! I guess it is true that jail tends to loosen an individual up a little. No pun intended. Just that she went from a staunch, “no” to a “Well... How about this?”.
Can’t blame her. I’ve seen enough tv shows and movies to know that jail stinks!
Okay, so then what is your solution?
The marshalls are going to obey the judge. Thus Kim Davis is in jail for not obeying the judge.
The judge is wrong. But the judge is implementing the SCOTUS ruling as he understands it.
We need to impeach the justices.
Cruz’s comment that he stands with the clerk does nothing.
Trump’s comment that the rule of law needs to be obeyed, is valid and does nothing.
You say this is not law, but until congress gets off it’s butt and impeaches someone, it really is law.

Right you are! See my post #32.
Right, see #32.
The clerk came up with a common sense approach. Just remove her signature from the form and she will issue them.
Im sure Trump didnt know this option, when he supported the rule of law.
Actually, that’s exactly what Trump suggested, this morning on Morning Joe. (He suggested her deputies sign the licenses.)
Maybe she was watching :)
See #32.
Some of the articles I read made it sound like this solution was offered to the judge and the judge ignored it. But I don’t know whether it was or not.
In any event, this solution doesn’t give the anti-gay supporters the civil disobedience they are hoping others will do for them.
And any thing Trump does on this issue is going to help Trump in the general election.
This is a lose lose issue all the way around.
I hope the clerk gets her compromise.

Anyone who believes otherwise is living in an alternative universe. It's certainly not connected to the one most of us live in.
ANYONE who thinks this affront to faith can be altered or changed by any means besides a ratified Constitutional Amendment is just plain stupid.
“...the mask is slipping...”
In Washington, D.C., they sell them in bulk.
Trump lacks understanding on the Constitution and States Rights.
Cruz all the way!
When was this law passed, Don?
