LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Police said a manhunt is underway in a northwest Las Vegas neighborhood for the person who shot an officer Friday morning.
The shooting happened about 4 a.m. at a home on Oveja Circle, near the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Alta Drive.
According to a spokesman for Las Vegas Metro police, the officer was shot in the leg while responding to a burglary. The officer returned fire, and wounded at least one person, who was arrested.
The spokesman said officers are in the area looking for at least one more person believed to be involved in the crime. He was described as black, with a short-cut afro. He was last seen wearing basketball. He was not wearing a shirt.
The officer was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries, and was expected to survive, according to the spokesman.
Several roads in the area have been blocked, including Rainbow, West Cliff, Alta and Lorenzi.

I tried wearing a basketball once, but the HR department said I was frightening the ladies in the office and asked me to go home.
It’s like you can’t go to the sporting goods store anymore for fashion advice. Crazy.
But what they’re going to get is cops in MRAPs.
Wearing basketball before Labor Day? Fashion faux pas.
#policelivesmatter !
obviously it’s time for strong basketball control laws.
Today Texas lays to rest the assassinated sheriff Goforth.
Our officers need citizens watching their back on every call and false flag. Is there really any other answer?
Heck of deal, isn’t it. Where are we?
Don’t think I will ever have enough guns and ammo. I do have, though, the maximum allowed under the Spousal Appeasement Act, which was enacted by decree 34 years ago this December.
Not that I have a problem with that.
No siree.
No problem.
Black war on cops.
Congratulations on 34 years of marriage! (seriously)
I have some ideas for anniversary gifts. I believe anniversary gifts are exempt from the limits in the Spousal Appeasement Act... :-)
There are few editors and even fewer proofreaders at today's newspapers and other media outlets. Reporters type and then upload their stories to someone (not necessarily an “editor”) who positions the story on the webpage and in a template for the print edition. This according to a friend of ours who recently “retired” (just ahead of another anticipated downsizing of staff) from the local newspaper.
The truth is the majority of blacks ruin everything they touch.
Look at the cities where they are 40% or more of the population. War zones. No go zones.
They steal guns to commit their crimes and then politicians look to grab the guns of the law-abiding, ruing it for us.
They commit crimes at high levels necessitating the use of MRAP’s and other such things heretofore never need in our once civil society.
They contribute to the social breakdown by having fatherless families. And since nobody speaks out (that would be racist after all) other groups see this sort of behavior as acceptable.
Show me one thing which they (urban blacks) touch which is not ruined.
They have caught the second BLACK suspect.

THANKS OBAMA!
Good news
Obama hasn’t won the ‘war on poverty’ or the ‘war of wits’ with Iran.
But Obama’s winning the ‘war on cops’... as more and more policemen are murdered on the streets of our once great cities...
LOL! That cracked me up.
#BlueLivesMatter - but not to liberals.
It’s a shame Barack Hussein Obama and most journalists would rather celebrate black racism than protect law enforcement.
That’s racist!
/sarc (not really)
