It certainly appeared to have been a premeditated, pre-planned disruption of a routine flight, perhaps designed to test responses or as a larger plot to intimidate and thereby garner privileges or concessions. It’s not likely that the six despicable individuals involved all just happened to find each other as members of the same Arab soccer team, although they certainly do deserve each other’s company.
A Southwest Airlines flight from San Diego to Chicago was rerouted to Amarillo late Monday, with six passengers removed and subsequently arrested on charges of “interference with a flight crew and abetting.”
FBI special agent T. Scott Hendricks has filed an affidavit which detailed the misbehavior of the passengers, Khalid Yohana, 19; Wasim Imad Shaker, 23; Essa Solaqa, 20; Ghazwan Assad Shaba, 21; Jonathan Khalid Petras, 20; and Saiman Hermez, 19, noting their refusal to obey the instructions of flight attendants and their aggressive and abusive behavior towards both the flight crew and fellow passengers.
As reported in the Dallas Morning News:
One flight attendant said that during the emergency demonstration prior to takeoff, the six “were asked numerous times to put their seat backs and tray tables up, which is required for takeoff of the aircraft, to which they verbally responded ‘no.'”
They “complied” after the flight attendant warned them the airplane would return to the gate if they didn’t do so.
“Later, while the flight attendants were taking drink orders, the six passengers started talking loudly and using profanity,” Hendricks said in his affidavit. The flight attendant “asked them to quiet down and they responded, ‘We can be as loud as we want and do whatever the [expletive] we want on here. You can’t make us listen.'”
When the flight attendant “said they couldn’t do that, they lunged forward in their seats and said, ‘We can do whatever we want on here.'”
That flight attendant denied their request for alcohol. They “became aggressive by lunging forward” at the flight attendant, who “stated she felt threatened and that they were escalating their aggressive behavior.”
The passengers asked another flight attendant why the first flight attendant wouldn’t serve them alcohol. That flight attendant also declined to serve them.
“They accused the attendants of being racist” and called the second flight attendant a “pig” as she walked away. The passengers then told a third flight attendant “that they could do whatever they wanted to because they bought a ticket.”
The passengers “did not comply with anything they were asked to do and were repeatedly standing up and becoming increasing louder. Due to the increase in their non-compliant and unpredictable behavior,” one flight attendant “felt uncomfortable and saw that they were attempting to incite other passengers to join in their non-compliant behavior.”
A flight attendant asked the pilots to divert the aircraft.
According to the affidavit, a passenger across the aisle from the six passengers heard them call the flight attendant a racist and pig.
“She heard them tell each other to throw gang signs, and then saw them using their hands to gesture gang signs. After using the bathroom, one of the passengers leaned towards the female passengers and called her a [expletive], ‘ugly ass’ and ugly.’ He then gave her the middle finger gesture. The passenger began to cry and was shaking. She contacted the flight attendants and was moved to another seat.”
A flight attendant again asked the pilots to divert the aircraft, the FBI agent stated. “The flight crew determined a level one threat existed and instituted an emergency lockdown. The pilots diverted the aircraft for the safety of the flight crew and passengers.” The airplane landed at the Amarillo airport at about 10:45 p.m.
The flight, originally scheduled to arrive at Chicago Midway at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, finally arrived there at 3:23 a.m.

Well, maybe the a** kicking wasn't quite called for yet (none of the Arabs had actually touched anyone), but I sure hope some folks on that flight had been quietly talking amongst themselves, and had a plan ready.
By golly, you're right. A can of food might do the trick if a roll of quarters was not available. That would certainly ruin the day of anyone heading towards the cockpit, especially if the sock man (or woman) was rude enough to strike the Arab in question without warning.

The TV clip I saw made no mention of their provenance as soccer players or ethnicity.
I guess it wasn’t germane to the issue of why passengers were scared by the demonstration.
And Obama wants to bring in more of these wonderful people.

Personally, we in NY have been experiencing decidedly more aggressive behaviors directed at us from our muslim brethren. They’ve been picking a lot of fights lately….
The original story says that these guys were part of a larger group of about 25 - soccer players they said.
All mention of ethnic background was kept from the public in the original story.
They are Chaldean Christians, whose sect originates in Mosul, Iraq. You know what is happening to their sect now.
It is also likely the players are American born.
Even though this might be seen as extreme...these degenerates should be incarcerated in solitary for the remainder of their lives...or hung.

I know many Chaldeans and all they're concerned with is working and making money. Which is a good thing.
There is also a growing population of Albanians in the Sterling Heights area of S.E. Michigan and these people are snakes. Not certain what they do legitimately but they're into drug trafficking and other crap.
They're fond of setting up cafe's under the guise of private clubs where you have to be a member to enter. There's one about a mile from me and when I googled the name of the "cafe", it turns out to be the name of the most prominent Albanian family and leader of which was recently arrested in Albania for international drug trafficking and prostitution. In other words, the leader of the Albanian mafia..........
