As the calendar turns to fall, Republican Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson is beginning to spring into contention as front-runner Donald Trump also appears to gain strength in a recent Gravis Marketing poll completed at the end of August 2015. Gravis Marketing, the nonpartisan research firm based in Winter Springs, Fla. recently conducted a random telephone survey of 957 registered voters in Iowa regarding the upcoming 2016 Presidential election gauging the pulse of registered voters on both sides of the Presidential isle. This poll was completed utilizing Gravis IVR technology and represents a margin of error of ± 3.2% [4.4% for Republican Caucus/4.8% for Democratic Caucus]. The telephone survey was conducted 8-29-2015 To 8-31-2015

“Why oh why was the poll showing Carson tied with Trump trumpeted so widely and loudly?”
-—To use Carson as a wedge to try and split Trump support thus giving Jeb an easier path — just my opinion
To: SamAdams76
You know, I have to agree with Trump - I don’t think Jeb really wants this job. He has no fire in his belly, no joy, no enthrusiasm - others must have goaded him into running. If so, they did him a disservice.

Gravis is suspect. Their results have been flawed going back to 2012.

They do everything the can to push Trumps numbers down. No way is it that low. Yep. I think Trump is at least at 50%. Everyone else running is just a bore.
To: rsobin
That's pretty simple. Those here on FR who detest Mr. Trump were ecstatic to see that poll that had Mr. Carson and Mr. Trump tied. Those who detest Mr. Trump were thrilled that they could proclaim that “they told you so” that Mr. Trump was a “flash in the pan” and would soon fall to the wayside, and this was their signal to announce their superior intellect and denounce those who have any type of support of Mr. Trump as heretics, idiots, morons, jerks, lowlifes, low information voters, asshats, etc, etc...
I suppose I've gotten my point across.
