The head of Arby's restaurant chain has apologized to the Pembroke Pines Police Department after an employee at a local restaurant reportedly refused to serve a uniformed officer.
Arby's Chief Executive Officer, Paul Brown, and Senior Vice President of Operations, Scott Boatwright, contacted PPPD Chief Dan Giustino to apologize on behalf of the organization, according to a police report.
Both men assured Giustino that the employee's behavior was "unacceptable" and did not represent the company's values.
Giustino accepted the apology, and the department considers the matter closed.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, another officer alleged that on Monday, a fellow uniformed officer was denied service at the Arby's located at 11755 Pines Boulevard near the Pembroke Lakes Mall.
"Real nice, Arby's" the post says, before encouraging others to boycott the restaurant.

That’s why i mostly go to Subway’s. Hard for the counter guys to spit in the food when the customer is in front of them but when I worked for McD’s back in HS, it really did happen. It’s not a myth.

The employee needs to be fired, and if the manager went along with, needs to be fired also. They should give free food for a day to any police officer.
A tad harsh for the what appear to be the actions of a single idiot employee. Appropriate action would be apologize, they did, and terminate the employee, which the didn't say. I didn't see evidence that the Franchisee had any sort of ongoing incidents.
From the article -
“In a statement, Pembroke Pines Police Department Chief Dan Giustino said he was “offended” and “appalled” at the incident, and that the department would be contacting the Arby’s CEO to demand an apology.
Giustino went on to say that the incident appears to be confined to a single individual employee, and is not in keeping with the support the department regularly receives from the Pembroke Pines community.”
The PD says it was one employee, and it seems Arby’s has pulled out the big guns to apologize. Does anyone seriously think it’s Arby’s policy to refuse service to police officers?
I swear, these things get posted, no one reads the article, they immediately start posting non-sense opinions without thinking.
Or they think about it as much as a black lab, when you wave a tennis ball in front of them and throw it in the lake. Woof! Woof! Splash!
Let me guess. Is the employee a likely supporter of the “black lives matter” crowd?
There is a double standard. In this case, there was an “apology” and nothing else.
If it had been a highly privileged member of a government-certified victim group, the manager and employee would have been fired, and the restaurant sued for millions of dollars.
Plus the phoney reverends would be out there picketing.
This is going to get out of hand real fast.
Which is exactly what the Marxist/Muslim in chief and Valjar want so that they can impose martial law and suspend what is left of American rights as they impose the dictatorship they have been seeking for decades. Study history of 1920's-1930's Germany or Italy or Japan for that matter and you will think you are looking at a re-run.
so.... did they not fire this cretin...
IF the manager did back the employee and refuse service, then the actions should be harsher. A manager speaks for the owner.
And this employee was fired?
In practicality, the manager speaks for himself, I did, though I ran the operation as if it was my own which was in tune with the owner. However I did have managers who thought they were little gods of the kingdom when on their own, they didn’t last long because you can’t hide being an ass for long. The franchise owner will pay for the lack of judgment of whoever hired those employees.
and fire the bum who refused to serve the officers. he should have asked for the manager and see if the manager of the place would back that employee.
If that's the case, then the counter help, AND the manager, should be gone - and that location's franchise revoked.
If not, that translates as Arby's Corporate supports the local franchise's decisions.
“Double bacon cheeseburger. Its for a cop”
If true, employee and manager need to be sent to the house. If not, if I were an officer I wouldn’t break my neck responding to a call from this location anytime soon, tell them to call black lives matter for assistance the next time there is trouble.
